Book Description

Dream Agency Series: How does a Djinn with a need to feed on human emotions survive in the modern world? Only emotions produced as a result of his own actions are suitable sustenance, but granting wishes in public has been backfiring on his kind for centuries. The answer is to hide his nature under a scientific guise, after all its amazing what hypnosis can accomplish.

Western Wishes (Dream Agency 1)
Life as a faceless office worker in London, is lonely for a painfully shy wallflower who is paranoid that someone is watching her every move. Finding out that she had an ancestor with the same name, a woman that led a romantic and important life in the Old West, leads her to an experience of a lifetime, only it isn't her life.
In hindsight, maybe agreeing to a ‘totally authentic’ experience wasn’t as good an idea as the people at the Agency had insisted. Mind numbing terror and pain, didn’t fit into the ‘enjoyable’ category as far as she was concerned, but perhaps someone else was getting more of a kick out of this than the client. On the other hand she has to admit that getting to know her leading man was quite another matter.

About the Author

I live in a sleepy historical town in southern England, along with my husband, four sons, and a menagerie of animals. if I can get out of domestic duties, I spend my time either with my nose in a book, or on my laptop writing. However I've discovered I can cook, vacuum, talk on the telephone and help with homework all whilst reading, although I'm working on multi-tasking whilst typing. My family are now partially trained to accept overcooked food, slapdash housework, and the kids know to ask for pocket money when I'm writing. My books are the kind I want to read, mainly science fiction and paranormal, sometimes with a historical twist. All have a healthy dollop of 'adult themes' and occasional violence. My heroes are sexy, the heroines feisty and the settings fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Historical fiction with a sci fi/erotic side 6 Jun. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Although this is classified as erotica, there is far more story than sex in this novel. That is not a bad thing and the sex is there. However, this is strong historical Western fiction with a little sci fi mix. Think Aldous Huxley with a paranormal twist.

Mary is shy and socially awkward, but she is interested in learning about her ancestry. Cue the djinn and his agency that allows patients to pay a great deal of money for hypnosis that appears far more real than real life. Mary is given the chance to live in the Old West, living the life of her own ancestor. The Western elements are strong; E. Jaye understands the era and the social elements of it as well.

One bit of warning - the ending is not all that happy. It is not terrible, but for HEA addicts, it may be an issue. On the plus side, the characters definitely grow and show real narrative arcs, which I enjoy as a reader.

4.0 out of 5 stars Western Wishes will leave you wishing for more 9 Sept. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Western Wishes is the fantastic beginning of the Dream Agency series. It has much to offer to readers; suspense, action, mystery and pulse-pounding erotica. E. Jaye’s realistic and well-written characters quickly draw the reader in while her visual writing spins the pages of this novel.

In Western Wishes, Jaye initiates the reader to the Dream Agency, a mysterious corporation founded by a powerful being. Using hypnosis, this ancient entity feeds itself on human emotion and transports the reader to fantasies of its own design. In the first of the series, Western Wishes, Jaye develops the fundamentals, the corner-stone characters and plot. But she also tells the story of her mousy protagonist, Mary Cooper.

Mary Cooper transforms from stuttering, timid researcher to confidant woman. She learns, through immersion in her fantasy, to satiate her sexual appetites and pursue her desires. While this may be somewhat rote to an erotica series, Jaye’s unique story line and great style invigorate this standard plot. And Jaye lends similar credibility to all of her characters, creating a unique voice for each in her novel, from Alpha, the damaged war-veteran, to her deviant villains, the Burkes.

Perhaps the best aspect of Western Wishes is the staggeringly unique mechanism developed by Jaye. All characters, either good or bad, are hypnotized into believing that the fantasy is real. In this case, that the American frontier, just before the turn of the Century, is the present day. Characters act according to their programming, so the vile Burkes are not deviant by choice, but at the direction of the entity.

As to the powerful being’s motivation, whether it is good or evil, the author leaves the issue open, one of the many reasons that Western Wishes will leave you wishing for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a unique premise! 15 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This was different than anything I've ever read. I'm impressed with the way that the author was able to weave everything together. The concepts of dream fulfillment is one I'd like to explore further following this book and I plan to read the others in this series. There's almost an element of time travel here (no spoilers) giving it sort of a vanilla sky twist that keeps you in suspense until the very end. It's got action, sex, suspense, emotion and much more! Checkout Western Wishes for a one of a kindread! Bravo to E Jaye for coming up with something so groundbreaking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read! 22 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Mary is a shy, stuttering girl who seeks out the services of the Dream Agency, a secretive institution that promises to fulfill their clients' every desire through hypnosis. Seeking to fulfill her dream of experiencing the life of her strong and independent namesake who lived in the wild west, she finds romance, danger, and her own voice as she makes her way through the Dream Agency's carefully crafted old west world.

This was fun read with a surprising twist. Jaye's ability to inject character insight and substance into this story while still maintaining the romantic plot was a wonderful treat. I look forward to reading book #2.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story 12 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The dream agency is a fantastic concept with limitless scope for future stories. The heroine, Mary Tyler sizzled off the pages -love feisty girls and it was fun following this character's romantic adventures. The author does warn that this story is for mature readers and with good reason. At one part my toes curled and I wasn't completely comfortable with the subject matter, but I understand it was critical to the plot. There were some editing issues, but the story sweeps over them and I'm sure these will be fixed in later editions. Overall a great read and I like how the author has set up the other characters and interweaved their stories into a series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great plot, steamy scenes, good characters 12 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to admit that at my very old age (early 50s) I haven't managed to get around to reading any erotica yet, so this book came as a bit of a 'ooo what's going on here', hehehe.

I loved the plot and enjoyed the paranormal side of this story.

I enjoyed the erotica bits too, it was a nice change to the full on fantasy adventure I normally read. I thought the scenery settings were wonderful and very descriptive. I really felt like I was in the Wild West, not that I know what that would have felt like but I had a good understanding of the town and the whereabouts of the mill with the river running in between. The transport system of horses and wagons came across very well, plus the buildings they resided in. All good descriptive stuff.

Characters were super. I liked the main female character and it was good to see her come out of her shell. The tension between her and main guy Adam was super. Made me feel young again. Anything that puts the reader into the scene in a realistic and convincing way means the author has pulled it off, and I for one felt this author did this very well. The baddies were really smelly and grubby and made me cringe just as I think they were meant them to. Plus I was glad they came to a bad ending as they were real mean (whoops SPOILER).

For me, I would have liked to have seen more of the paranormal side of the tale but I felt it was more about the erotica side of things. But that could just be my age and it will appeal to lots of younger women.

The only wee criticism I have is there are still a few typos and words using the wrong tense but these can be sorted very easily. Great story, great characters and a lovely plot that moves without getting boring. Not once did I feel it was boring. I'm going on to download the next book in this series.
