I was told at school that I was utterly useless at art, and for years felt this meant I was not 'allowed' to draw. Betty Edwards' wonderful book gave me the confidence to try again - and to dare to join a drawing class. Her book inspired me to want to know more about art and drawing. Most art books are written for people who can already draw. Although this author is a natural artist, she has found a rare empathy with those of us who have to struggle to get the line on paper to look like the line in our imaginations.

I have read and worked through this book carefully, and I was really disappointed. After all the positive and awesome comments I heard about it, I excpected a REALLY great drawing book. Her new "method" hardly helped me improve my drawing, the only slight difference I noticed was caused by exercise. However, I was quite good at drawing from reference already before reading this book, so I may have used her "new" method already.
