Very useful handbook for who (beginner or not) is like:"oh my drawings are lifeless!". This book shows a lot of examples of common drawing mistakes and teach how to correct them. Even the techniques and material sections are specifically directed to understand how to paint animals, no déjà-vu. Recommended!

This particular book I found was indeed a great help for me ,as it is more advanced in its teaching. Much more detail to composition, tones,types of painting,textures and much ,much more. Truly a very good book ,just like having a tutor by your side instructing you as you go.
If like me you are self taught by the books you invest in ,this one I recommend.

This book is great for beginners. Step by step instructions in graphite, watercolour and other mediums. Plenty of exercises to complete. I am extremely happy with this book. Trudy Friend is a great teacher.
