My son was very pleased with this book. There are plenty of images to draw, however there is also a lot of tips on how to draw them, which my son found quite tedious after a while.

Well... 22 May 2011
By Iris Lynn - Published on Amazon.com

I purchased this book in Hobby Lobby, and was very skeptical when I got it. Most 'How to Draw Manga' books aren't the best, but this one is okay.
The book is only 32 pages, and unlike the amazon title says, it is not how to paint. It is good for intermediate artists, and is a good reference for a few poses and character ideas. Not the best, but at the same time, not the worst either.

Drawing Manga! 1 Sept. 2010

This is not a great book for beginners. It doesn't take you step-by-step and is hard to follow. This is probably a great book for someone who knows what they're doing.

I have almost a dozen Walter Foster books from his series but this is no doubt my favourite, i recommend them highly!
Not very good 4 July 2013
By Doreen Strydom - Published on Amazon.com

Of all the manga books I have this one is by far the worst. It gives a very general overview of certain aspects of Manga. But there's nothing in detail in the book.
If you're looking for something that gives you a fairly good variety of subjects in a very general way go ahead and get this book. Otherwise you're just wasting your money and time.
It's OK, but... 17 April 2012

There are several things I don't like about it. For one, it doesn't really give you any tips. It's not really a step-by-step thing. They don't even really go over eyes, which is one of -if not- THE main feature of the manga style. They don't tell you things that I have learned from other places that I find quite useful. They're not really detailed at all. And as I said before, they don't have good advice to help you along. Not really worth the 8-9 bucks I spent on it at Hobby Lobby.
So please, instead of getting this, go for something more like Mark Crilley's new book. SO MUCH BETTER. And go ahead and check out Mark's videos on youtube, as well.
Another place that's good is the MangaUniversity site. You can pay for the courses if you want, but even the free mini tutorials helped me a lot more than this book did.
