Caricature Guide,

I bought this and the "Draw Caricature" book
This one is basically just one artist's numerous caricatures The good thing is it shows how sometimes you get it right -sometimes wrong It has an OK technique bit - but the "Draw Caricature" book is better. It's a good book to inspire you, but not maybe the best of the two. That notwithstanding, it was good to use and see another technique for caricaturing.

This book was typical of the many caricature instruction books I have seen over the years. The 'basic' section was nothing new to me. I learned that years ago. The rest of the book highlighted the author's caricature skills, but failed to give much 'instruction' that could be used by a beginner or even someone like me trying to improve my skills.
I really liked the book from an entertainment viewpoint. It is a great book to document the authors success, but doesn't help me with mine. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful:

Dick Gautier presents strong ideas on the art of caricature. He provides lots of illustrations based on his interpretations of famous and not so famous people that he has caricaturized. This book is a good resource for anyone serious on learning how to caricature people.

My daughter loves to draw cartoons- she was thrilled with this book.Personally I dont get it but it wasnt for me! in great condition for a used book- you cant tell its used. all-in-all a great deal.
