This is a very high quality robust product. The consentrated beam of light that comes from it, is suitable for both long distance and close up veiwing. The price for such a high quality torch is also exellent. I would advice to buy good quality batteries to gain maximum performance though.

This torch has a strong aluminium case and 4 bright white LED's. I use a torch for my work and this is also ideal for carrying as an emergency. The light is plenty bright enough for general use, finding your way about etc and gives useful illumination for about 20 to 30 metres. Diameter of the bright part of the beam is about 1.2M at 5M distance with general illumination at about 45 degrees from this. It is brighter than most LED torches [and I have tried a few] but not suitable for large scale work, it is a pocket torch after all. I recommend it if you need a long lasting torch for emergencies or regular use and sometimes leave them about [as I do]. Can't comment on reliability as I have only been using it a couple of weeks.

I ordered this on the back of another item, trying to equip all of my tool totes with the often needed item. Not expecting much for the price, I am happy to report that I was wrong. The quality of the casement is as good as the now eponymous, and relatively expensive (almost three times the price,) dual AA Maglite. Although I don't believe the beam to focus to such a fine point, the flood is far more useful when wiring a terminal block in the dark, say. The only thing I can fault is the way the provided lanyard is supposed to fit to the end cap. But I can't even take half a star off for that minor annoyance.
I will get another one or two next time I order. I can't endorse anymore that that!

excellent torch let down by packaging
