On first use of my new hedge trimmer it seemed very thirsty for fuel. It emptied a whole tank in about 5 minutes of use. After it was stored for a day I picked it up and fuel started dripping from the air filter cover. I rang Draper up about this and explained what was happening. He put me on hold whilst talking to their technical department. He informed me that the unit must be stored upright or fuel will leak out. In fact I had stored the unit fairly upright and it didnt explain the excessive fuel consumption so I rang a few garden machinery service centres up, and each time I was told in no uncertain terms that the hedge trimmer was faulty, as they are designed so they can operate or be stored, on their sides. I dont know why the Draper help desk told me it was a normal thing to happen but I have sent it back as faulty and will never buy one of their products again.
