It is made completely of metal, feels solid, and though the staple action does make a resounding sound, it works brilliantly!
All chairs now upholstered, and my better half is quiet happy to say the least!
It comes with about 250 staples, but believe me, these go fast, so might as well order a box to start with!

I needed to staple into weathered oak and this gun did the trick. It's good value. But if you set it to maximum force, you need a strong hand to operate the lever.
