The mitre saw I bought last year from B&Q was a real bargin. The disappointment was the course cutting (25-tooth) blade that came with it. So when I cut my new oak bannister rails the outcome was very untidy. New 60-tooth blades from B&Q were too expensive for the number of cuts I'll ever need to make, so when I found this 60-tooth blade on Amazon at a bargin price, I snapped it up. It was a very good buy and makes a perfectly clean cut.

One thing that many people do is flog their blades to death and then wonder why they end up with chewed wood or a burned out motor. Like those very same people I was giving my bench mounted Bosch saw a good shoeing in that department, however when I started to burn my way through the wood rather than cut it I decided enough was enough.

So I searched for blades that meet a few obvious criteria. Price commensurate with the cut, fits properly, safe, well made and most importantly the ability to cut a thin neat line with minimal tearout. That means a finer tooth with more TPI. The advantage of this is of course a better, neater cut but one of course has to accept that compared to a coarse blade the cutting rate is lower. I feel that's a fair tradeoff.

So I search all over for blades to meet the above and arrived at the Draper Expert blade here. I have no illusions as to where it's made which is probably the Far East. However Draper have for their Expert range ensured that the quality is there for a decent price. Which is a shed load less than you are going to get buying the equivalent Bosch blade in the local DIY mega-store.

Overall a cracking, well made blade for the price.

I've recently bought a Bosch sliding compound mitre saw which had a Bosch 40 (or 42?) tooth blade fitted. I wanted something finer so went for this Draper Expert 60 tooth blade. The quality of this blade seems as good as the Bosch and I've just cut through a 5cm x 20cm thick Oak plank as if it were going through butter, and the cut was very smooth with no splinters. I don't know how long the blade will last compared to a Bosch blade, but at this price you can afford to replace more often.

Fabulous blade for the money, I've used it not on many different timbers ranging from marine grade 19mm ply, through to 3inch thick African Blackwood and providing you take you time it cuts beautifully so much so I haven't even needed to tidy the cut up on the planer/thicknesser, tear out is very unnoticeable if you use it with care and dont rush the cut. A real bargain that competes well with blade 4 or 5 time the price.

Excellent. I bought this to replace a blunt and course 28 tooth saw blade on my chop saw. It now makes a perfect accurate cut each time with no splitting out of the wood.

I wanted good clean mitre cuts and this does it well. Not easy to find elsewhere and reasonably priced with a quick delivery.

A few years ago, you wouldn't have touched Draper tools with a barge pole, now they have a massive range and most of it pretty good quality. This blade is no exception - I've fitted it to my Makita cirular saw and it has kept neat smooth straight cuts (no burning or blade chipping), even through high quality 40mm thick kitchen worktop. It's a bit of a slower cut so don't be tempted to just rip through stuff as if it's a 24 toothed blade.
Very impressed.
