This rake is amazing value. It has carbon steel prongs and a metal handle with a plastic grip which makes it comfortable to hold and use. It feels very solid but is quite light. I am very happy with this purchase.

Well review in three parts. Delivery upto Amazon usual standards. Ordered 24/11 3-5 day delivery arrives 7pm 26/11 courtesy of Yodel. Wrapped in fit for purpose cardboard box and lots of wrapping. Fuel for the winter fire. Looks. Solidly built approx 6ft head to toe all metal no flimsy brittle plastic and the handle has a rubber handle grip.

Finally the stars reflect the quality of the product and how it performs. WARNING. I'm not exactly familiar with anything to do with gardens. But I have a lawn and I am sick and tired of looking at it get progressively worse each year, with moss and weeds, creeping things, clover and so on. I've kind of figured out there seems to be different kinds of rake which are each designed with a particular purpose in mind.Up until now I kind of thought a rake is a rake. The prongs on this rake are at right angles to the handle and this seems to make it fit to really rip into the lawn. If you have deep moss layers and try to use this rake to deal with the moss it will dig in and rip up your lawn with the moss in two seconds flat and it will then look like a bomb site. I've come to use a number of rakes to sort my sorely neglected lawn out. First a rake with prongs at a gentle 45 degree angle from the handle; an old family heirloom. The Spear and Jackson select stainless flexo lawn rake looks about the same from the photo provided. You bend over a bit, lay the rake on the lawn and gently stroke this over the surface and just keep on doing this whittling away the moss. Then I tidy up with a light weight rake similar to the Yeoman Expanding Lawn And Leaf Rake. Then this heavy duty rake comes into play to annihilate anything left, ie weeds; creeping this that and the other, ripping up the creeping weed root systems.

This rake is great quality and very sturdy. Highly recommended.
Used it a few times and its nice long handle avoids awkward bending and back ache.

Only small criticism is packaging. So tightly wrapped you need to carefully dissect with razor.
Fast delivery (using amazon prime).

I was in a hurry to buy one of these for my grandad I saw it was a metal fan rake as he wanted and was cheap, didn't check the make or anything, when it came and grandad said what make I was I was extremely chuffed to get it at the price I did!! Perfect!!

Great price, great product, works a treat. Only gripe is the handle molding needed file-ling down because it rips blisters into your palms.

Lightweight and great for raking grass and leaves off the lawn without damaging it. It is a bonus too that it is great value!

This rake is quite heavy thanks to the tines being made of carbon steel, and also to the very long metal handle. The prongs are also slightly longer, wider apart, bigger in diameter, and not as springy as those on the rake which I already had, also a Draper purchased about 30 years ago, and which was very light, very manoeuverable, a real joy to use. Very disappointed that they don't make them like they used to!
