I've had this vacuum cleaner for two months, and use it often, for anything from crumbs/spills to whole rooms. I find it good value for money. Some reviews here claim that it goes too hot. It does get hot after a while, but not uncomfortably so IMO. I empty it often, though, as handhelds generally go hot quickly when the filter starts getting covered.

I use the wide brush attachment the most, and almost never use it without an attachment unless it's just for dry, easy spills. The opening is a bit awkwardly positioned to use as is. The brush fluffs up the carpet better than my big hoover, and gets the deep dust out. I've tested using the big hoover first and the Draper with the brush attachment after, and the Draper collects quite a bit of fine dust/dirt still.

The long hose attachment is prone to falling out as it's not that flexible, and not well attached. It also reduces the sucking power a lot, and I mostly just use it to get into narrow spots, like between the washing machine and the cupboard.

It's also excellent for hovering small areas of carpet when you're using stain remover, as the brush loosens all the detergent and gets it out (along with the stain, hopefully).

All in all I'm very satisfied with the Draper. A B&D or other top brand might be better, but also a lot more expensive. The Draper is very good for its price class.

Have had several re-chargable hand held vacuum cleaners over the years, either you forget that they are on charge if you are not using them for weeks or they are flat when you want to use them and at best they only work for a few minutes before losing power. Both my daughter and I were in the market for a hand held vacuum cleaner and after a bit of research I bought this one. Draper, in my opinion, have been a well known brand in tools etc. over the years and this product lived up to thet expectation. Powerful 600w motor, solid plastic body, washable filter, carrying strap, 4.5 metres of wire to the plug and all the tools you will need. O.K. I paid just over half of the recommeded retail price, which was about the same as a budget priced re-chargable hand held cleaner but it is more powerful with no loss of suction over time in use. Some of the tools can look a little flimsey but they do the job. You could say the mains cable could be problem but its long enough not to restrict use. Excellent value for money and on seeing and trying it my daughter purchased one.

I've got a very small flat - space is at a premium - so this little vac is just what I've been looking for!!

It's very cute, and solidly built - to me it looks like a type of submarine that might have turned up in Captain Scarlett. Although it's of solid construction, it's not too heavy to carry around comfortably.

It comes with a hose fitting, with two different sized brushes to put on the end of it. When using on tiles or lino, you can use the cleaner without the hose, and it'll suck the stuff up directly. Also included is a shoulder strap, which is convenient to have, and lightens the load even further. The plug cable is long, which is good.

When cleaning on carpets, the vacuum works very hard and runs quite hot, although I think it's designed this way. I wouldn't want to use it for an extended period of time though, even so. The brushes are both quite small, too - so it takes a lot of strokes to get the work done. The attachments come off too easily, and the motor runs too hot.

The one problem I have with this machine is that the hose isn't long enough - you have to crouch and squat for it to reach the floor, which is uncomfortable. If the hose was inflexible and long, there wouldn't be this problem. Obviously for using on stairs etc, it's fine. Bear this in mind if you suffer from aches and pains.

Other than that, this is the ideal size for a small space - bigger than a dustbuster/black and decker battery-powered thing, but smaller than the normal ones that take up a surprising amount of room. It isn't suited to doing extended periods of housework.

    disappointing
Although the suction works well the vacuum is very disappointing in use because the hose does not fit securely enough and is constantly falling out.

Handy and powerful enough tool for the car (and it was a dirty one!), however, there is a problem with the hose. It seems to come out of the body of the hoover very easily. Read more
