I thought this item was going to be useful for measuring moisture content and PH on my boggy allotment. However, the PH did not change whatever I did with the probe, so I cannot recommend this product at all. Buy a proper kit instead.

Draper 54655 SOIL TESTER.
I bought this item to test the ph of my soil, although it does have two other functions - it will test the moisture content of soils, which is useful for doing so to soil in pots, and it will give a light level reading.
As a ph tester it is utterly useless, and a total waste of money.

ABSOLUTE CRAP! ph tester does not work. When it did not work in garden or on pot plants; I tested tap water, lemon and bycarbonate of soda solution. All gave a high acid reading. The light reading works, and so does the moisture reading, but nobody needs them - use your eyes and fingers!!!! Poor build quality means you can't shove it in to the soil without breaking it.

The soil tester came on time and works a treat. Have to be careful how you push it into the soil but so far it serves it's purpose.

Rating....zero stars....worthless piece of junk, probes fell out after third use, very poorly made. Results were even suspect before it fell apart.
