I'm struggling to maintain enough interest to finish this. There's nothing wrong with the stories, but even with a C.E. Murphy Old Races story, the collection leaves me underwhelmed. I guess it's a question of editorial taste being on another wavelength.

There is also the usual collection of typos, which I presume is just plain poor proofreading. I was also puzzled to find š › used a chapter sub-divider instead of e.g. * * *. What's that about?

4.0 out of 5 stars Dragon's Lure is a Fun Read 8 Jun. 2010
By Leona Wisoker - Published on
"Dragon's Lure" is very enjoyable, and a great addition to my bookshelf. From the beginning story by John Grant ("Baited Breath"), to the ending one by David B. Coe ("The Dragon Muse"), I loved every moment of reading this quirky collection of short stories. This is a fun read, and hard to put down; the writers are all very talented and have a great sense of humor. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dragon stories but is tired of the "same old stuff". The cover art (by Thomas Nackid) and interior artwork (by Linda Saboe) is also lovely; I even bought a print of one of the illustrations along with the book, and I do NOT do that often.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dragon's Lure 12 Nov. 2012
By Star @ The Bibliophilic Book Blog - Published on
Dragons have always captured our imaginations ranging from fire-breathing beasts of old to the more civilized dragons in some contemporary literature. `Dragon's Lure' gives a deeper look into the lives and loves of dragons - from virgins to mountains of treasure. Very original and breathtaking, `Dragon's Lure' will definitely lure you in as you delve into the dragon psyche. My favorite story in the collection is "Perchance to Dream" by C.E. Murphy. Ms. Murphy's story gives a new perspective on Janx, the dragon from her Negotiator trilogy and one of my favorite characters. If you love dragons, I'm sure you'll love `Dragon's Lure'.

Thought I'd love this more. Fan of several of the authors. Good read, but theme gets old quick. Surprised, but not necessarily in the good way.
