Synopsis

Want to know how to draw the scales on a fire-breathing dragon? Or on a Mermaid's tail? How about the feathers on a giant Roc? Or the clothes of a giant? Drawing fire-breathing beasts and mysterious, magical creatures has never been so much fun-or so easy! In this 64-page how-to-draw book, fantasy artist Kythera of Anevern demonstrates how to draw dragons, fairies, ogres, merfolk, and everything in between! Readers will discover in-depth tips and techniques for drawing textures such as fur, hair, scales, and teeth, as well as features like tails, wings, talons, hooves, and horns. With a wealth of fanciful drawings and in-depth instruction on re-creating extraordinary creatures in graphite, this book is ideal for anyone who is fascinated by the fantastic.

a fantastic book 26 July 2011
Format:Paperback
this book is great, there's a wide range off creatures from dragons to fairies to gargoyles the steps used to draw are fairly easy but young children may find them hard to understand but the annotations are a big help as they include a small explanations to certain techniques. Overall a fantastic book.

NOT actually for beginners, despite misleading title 12 Nov 2010
By Dana A. Lawrence Jr. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this book with the presumption that it would actually make the drawing of fantasy creatures easier than I normally found it, given that the title directly states "Drawing made easy". HOWEVER, in order for beginners with little to no previous experience to truly understand any of the drawing steps after the third or so, you pretty much need to buy the other books in the series (as advertised on the inside jacket) because they use techniques or skills that, should you not understand them, will leave you just as confused as before.

Now for those with previous experience, depending on your degree of skill and what techniques or art-terms you know, this could in fact be a fun book to learn from. But the fact that it gives the appearance of a beginner's book takes away from this fact. Overall, the book is more for intermediate users.
Not easy at all... 6 Mar 2012
By Thyrza - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The book is supposed to be for people that want to learn how to draw dragons, but the step by step exercises are full of sketches very confusing.
Maybe the problem is mine, but i really found it hard to follow.
Dragons and Fantasy Drawing Book Review 30 Dec 2010
By Handy_Man - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great book that helps one to draw better and improve their skill.

*Advantages:* Enhances your current level of artistic skill. Has nice finished illistrations. Helps one draw fantasy. Has a handy Tools and Materials page.

*Disadvantages:* _Some_ but not all, of the step-by-step illistrations are small and may be difficult to see. It is not nessasarily for beginners that are just starting to draw.

A Nice addition to anyone's drawing book collection.
