Product Description

From the Back Cover

Myths handed down since the dawn of time tell of dragons, the most strange and magnificent creatures of our mythical prehistory. In this glorious epic fantasy, Graham Edwards captures the terror and beauty of the days when dragons roamed our skies.

THE WORLD IS TURNING…

The bones of trolls are turning slowly to stone as nature draws apart from the Realm, the mysterious source of Charm, leaching enchantment out of the world.

Yet, a young Natural dragon named Fortune, with no fire in his breath nor magic in his power, holds the key to the survival of Charm, and a new race of dragons.

Wraith, malevolent leader of an army of Charmed dragons, knows this; and he must awaken the guardian of the Realm in a desperate bid to gain the Seed of Charm and the power it holds. But the guardian is as old as time, and magic is an elusive and dangerous force…

I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed them all immensely. They are refreshingly different in that the story does not revolve around human characters interacting with dragons - it is all told from the dragons' point of view. Having said that, the dragons are very anthropomorphic, thinking and behaving like people rather than animals (they have such concepts as murder, government and war), but the characterization is very good.

The plot is complex and interesting with rarely a dull moment, keeping you gripped all the way through.

The only complaint I have is that, as any cryptozoologist will tell you, the author's "natural dragons", having only two legs, are in fact not dragons but wyverns!

This book is among one of the best fantasies i have ever read, it is wounderfully detailed and captures the imagination marvellously. It is very different from other fantasies as there are no human or human resembling characters, making it a refreshing and interesting read. If you love the work of Tolkien, then this book is a must read! The author guides you through a world of tragic misunderstandings and the changing of the world as it is known The events have unfortunate but not devastating effects, with new hope and understanding between the mysteries of charm and the seemingly dullness of nature being born, and a new race of dragons, with a new future. Once picked up it is immpossible to put down, and after reading this I have gone out and bought the second and third in the series. If you have a wild imagination and a love for dragons, this is the ultimate book to own.

Format: Paperback
This book has been really underrated! It's fast paced, so you're always interested, and it's long enough to give you enough to read. It's completely different to any other dragon books I've read, is fairly priced and very good value for money. There are no human characters - they're all dragons, so it's a gem of a book for dragon maniacs like me :)

This is an incredible book, I absolutely love it! It has such an intriguing story absolutely without comparison and is sure to capture anyone's interest. The characters are unique not just in personality, but also in physical appearance: some really cool and creative dragons are described here in great detail. The story moves along pretty quickly and before you know it, it's finished. It does have two sequels: "Dragonstorm" and "Dragonflame", both of which continue this great tale and leads it in a shocking direction.

I would highly recommend not only this book but the entire "The Ultimate Dragon Saga"-trilogy to anyone who's a fan of epic-fantasy.
