Trunks Compendium - Shabby, but a few good tracks., 17 Feb 2003
By A Customer
This CD is the only "Special Edition" CD released by Bruce Faulconer for the American Version of Dragonball Z. It focuses on the music inspired by one of the central characters of the show, Mirai Trunks (During the Android and Cell Sagas) Like the other CDs Faulconer Productions Music has released, this is basically just synthesized techno; so if you don't like techno, avoid like the plague. However, on this CD he has picked several good tracks that stand out, such as the "Piccolo" theme (From the Freeza Saga), "A Little Help from a Friend". However, there are some really dull, droning tracks on here which are not at all memorable from the series. Also included on this soundtrack are a few bonus tracks - The American Dragonball Z Theme, the "Last Time/Next Time" segment music, and the complete soundtrack to English episode 105 ('120' on the tracklist refers to the Japanese numbering) - clocking in at 20 minutes in all. This is good if you are a fan of that episode, and it has several of the musical styles in one track. I must re-iterate this soundtrack is of the DBZ American version; so only a few tunes will be recognisable if you watch CNX in the UK, due to the switch after episode 107. I feel this CD does have its merits, but overall, it's pretty shabby, but not the worst CD Faulconer Productions Music has released so far.
