Dragon Warrior is an entertaining and playful romance with gobs of fascinating characters. I can't wait to read more books from this wonderful author! Although this is part of a series, it can be easily read by itself.
Maddy Kimble has a good life even if it is a busy and overworked one. With a young daughter, a full time job, and a troublesome ex-husband, she doesn't have time, let alone any energy for romance! But little does Maddy realize that she has caught the eye of a handsome Irish nobleman, named William Killkenny.
William is actually from the ninth century and was cursed as a dragon. As a dragon he watched Maddy and promised himself if his curse could be broken, he would pursue her. William is now human but to his dismay Maddy thinks he is crazy! He soon realizes that courting a woman in the ninth century is far different from the current time period! Soon he enlists help from the elderly people whom Maddy takes care of at a local nursing home. And as they take him in hand, Maddy is stunned by the handsome `new' William. And it doesn't hurt that William is intent on lightening Maddy's burden and likes her daughter.
Is this sudden romance too good to be true or is there something `off' about William as Maddy first suspected?
This book is hilarious with wacky characters such as a mermaid with attitude and a time traveling hero which makes this book so fun to read. Maddy is super easy to relate to. She is struggling to keep things together but is so soft hearted and caring that she overworks herself. William sees how much Maddy needs help even if she doesn't ask for it. I loved how determined he is to take some of the weight off her shoulders. But the best sections of this story are when the gruff and untamed William has his makeover by the well-meaning elderly at the nursing home. It is funny to read how Maddy reacts to this `improved' William and appreciates him all the more.
Lighthearted and entertaining, this book will make you smile. I loved the cast in this story and can't wait to read MORE, please!
