About the Author

Michael W. Ford is a Luciferian who develops and practices what is called ‘Adversarial Magick’. Defining Adversarial Magick is simple: to use the counter-motion of chaos which motivates evolution, creates and destroys and enables a path to self-excellence. The essence of Luciferianism is the result of willed focus towards self-mastery and the wisdom gained from the experience of victory. Luciferianism invokes the nearly forgotten Hero-cults of the ancient near east and the Greek-Hellenic world which humanity could strive for self-excellence, power and when natural instincts and desires were not damned by some anti-nature death cult. Michael W. Ford has written well over 15 books and is the founder of The Order of Phosphorus as well as co-founder of the Black Order of the Dragon. Predatory spirituality, astral vampyrism and the cult of the Daemon (the True Will, Personal God) are core aspects of Luciferianism which inspire the Black Adept to seek Balance in both light and darkness, not as a duality but a mutually inspiring force of renewal.

Decent book, if you're an angry, bitter, ex-Christian... not much for real Luciferians 11 Aug. 2013
By Eleth - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book presented a different angle for me to think about, but any book could have. I rented this copy from the Kindle Lending Library, and to really get more info out of it (something I am not interested in, as I am beyond this level and not interested in his brand of Luciferianism), I would need to buy a hard copy to better go through it.

I did pick up a few helpful things, as to Ashtar's origins, and the spirits of plague and pestilence... but beyond that, this book was mainly sensationalism knocking Christianity to sell more books. Don't misunderstand; I am a Luciferian, and a proud one at that, but to carry around that much hatred and misunderstanding and judgement of others... these qualities are not "evolution." They are ill ways of thinking and do not serve you, you serve them. As I learned early on in my path - that Luciferianism that doesn't have a "magic book," and if it doesn't serve YOU, get rid of it.

Canaanite Gods 3 Sept. 2012
By S. Cranow - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Let's face it sometimes a book can suffer from having too much information and being too long. This book is a prime example. Do not get me wrong is a great book but so overwhelming. The first half of the book explains the philosophy of Adversarial Magic and the history of the Canaanite Gods. There is a detailed description about the different gods and what functions they served in the Ancient world. The naming of associations goes beyond being thorough, it is a tidal wave of information. This is one of those books that could use a little more leaning toward Wicca 101. The second half of the book is filled with rituals and invocations to the vering deities for a variety of reason. The last part of the book talking about the seven plentery rulers and how to use their powers for self betterment. There are many inscriptions and sigil in the book along with Hebrew and Mesopamian cuneiform. I did notice several errors with th Hebrew where in it did not match up with the transliteration. Editing is a problem especially with the bold face print. Often time the words are sandwitched together making it hard enough too read if you are able to decipher the English. But then when transliterated words are thrown in it can get really confusing.

I had a little trouble with the format of the book, but not so much as to keep me from using the information.

Great Book 14 July 2014

This is a great book. It was my first Michael Ford book, and is still prob my favorite so far of the other books I have read and own of him. This is a really good history book in my opinion. They have the Hymns and rituals, but I really just loved the deep history behind all of the gods and cultures.
