1.0 out of 5 stars Star Wars meets Lord of the Rings 26 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
This film was either set in a galaxy far, far away or in Middle Earth. I'm not sure which. Maybe both.

The basic story goes something like this: An old wizard with a white beard gets killed and a young farmer boy, who appears to be pre-destined to fulfil a prophecy, takes up a quest to destroy an evil dark lord wearing a black cape. He meets a princess on his travels. Does this sound vaguely familiar? I thought so and during the film, I turned to my girlfriend and said "I keep expecting Yoda to appear". No sooner had I said that and this little old man, dressed in green and hobbling around on a wooden stick appeared. He did a very convincing impersonation of Yoda's voice, complete with mannerisms. It was uncanny.

I'm not saying this is complete plagiarism because it wasn't set in space. It was set in the land of Modor and I'm pretty sure hobbits made a cameo appearance too.

This has to be one of the funniest films I've seen in a long time. Sadly, the comedy is unintentional. It is so stupendously terrible I could only laugh. So if you are looking for a genuinely good film to watch, my advice is keep away from this one. If, however, you are just looking for a laugh then I would recommend buying this DVD while it's still available because it's only a matter of time before George Lucas sees it and files a lawsuit.

1.0 out of 5 stars SO BAD!!! 5 April 2010
Format:DVD
Honestly, do not buy this! Do not help to fund these aweful films. I bought this film to help my research into the fantasy films currently being made and this filled me both with joy (I can do so much better!) and dispair (is this the rubbish that we currently have to accept from the fantasy genre?!)

The story doesn't really exist, stuff happens for no reason, like they are making it up on the spot. The girl looks like some glamour model (and not in a good way) dressed in a cheap skimpy black Xena style outfit from a local costume store! I could rant about it all day but I don't want to fill my head with it ever again.

The whole film is laughable but not in a good way and the funniest thing of all was actually watching the main character's shirt change colour like magic from scene to scene!

I've seen better films made by 10 year olds!
