Format:DVD
This film is great!!I don't know what drugs the creators were on when the made it but I want some. The thought process behind the 'world' in this movie are amazing. The animation is wonderful, the ideas are MAD, the the scenery is amazing. I have watched this numerous times and, the story aside, I sit enthralled each time.
Saying that the story is also great. The main characters are an odd bunch but they fit together perfectly. The fact that the main child is a girl is a lovely twist when it would have been a lot more traditional in this kind of story to have a boy.
This movie has everything. It is fabulous visually, there are dragons, scary creatures, cute sidekicks, a hero, subtle humour, knights, an evil uncle, a lovely uncle.... a truely great DVD.
My only comment would be to be alert when watching this with any young sensitive young children. My three year old wasn't scared but that is because he is going through a 'brave big boy' stage. Three months ago he would have been hiding behind the sofa when the dragons came on!
Would highly reccomend this movie for adults and children alike!!

Hey,
This is really a great not so famous animation movie!!!
But it really can match with a Pixar or Dreamworks animation movie.
A fantastic bright coloured flowting fantasy world where dragons are a pest.
So ofcourse there are Dragon hunters that try to earn much money for catching them.
And the best team for that are Gwizdo (really funny character, With the great funny voice of Rob Paulsen)
And Lian-Chu (voiced by Forest Whitaker), Joined by a small girl Zoe,
And the funny blue coloured, fire bomb peeing dog Hector.
They have to catch the biggest and most famous dragon of all, ...the World eater.
The story is good, ...And the HD video images and HD sound are even better!!!
So if you like animated movies, This one you really must buy,
You are really gonna like it ;)

I'd never heard of this DVD but at under £4 and with the positive reviews I thought I'd give it a go for our family movie night. What a mistake. The movie theme is great and the packaging makes the comparison with Dreamworks "How to Train Your Dragon" which we all loved, but that's where the comparison ends.
As a French/Chinese production it lacks the mainstream humour for different age groups that you get in the American cartoons. Instead you get a combination of French "art" (which I generally find too pretentious) and some bizarre characters/situations (eg. flying red eyed rabbits at the end).
A single star is too low as there is some humour (eg. a "dog" that starts fires in an interesting way), but only if you can bear to watch beyond the first 10 minutes which are a combination of dark (an entire village gets wiped out by a dragon though you don't see anything gruesome) and truly bizarre (the creators must have been on drugs). After that it settles down and becomes something you can watch, but I don't think you'll ever watch again.
Overall, it'd be great to have alternatives to the American studios, but this isn't even close and I'd wait until it falls well below £2.

Watch this film!
This is a fantastic film both in plot and animation, original and very well made! I highly recommend it to anyone that is a fan of animation films and/or dragons!
