Book Description

An epic fantasy tale of Chinese dragons and myths, set along the Great Silk Road more than a thousand years ago.

Product Description

Set in ancient China, two brothers fight the classic battle between good and evil as the Shadow-without-name attempts to break free from an eternal imprisonment by utilizing the strength and power of the famed dragon horses.

Rokshan and An-Lushan are drawn into this centuries-old struggle, along with a young girl destined to become the Spellweaver of her nomadic tribe. And as An-Lushan is pulled towards the dark, Rokshan must embark upon a dangerous journey into the lands of the Wild Horsemen - where he is to meet the great stallion Stargazer and, ultimately, must learn the innermost secrets of the dragons . . .

This is an epic fantasy tale set in Ancient China. It is about two brothers who split their paths to find their destiny. A fantastic read with the author's description extremely vivid and outstanding. Dragon Horse is one of the best books I have read by a long way. It is truly amazing and builds up to an enthralling finish keeping you in suspense until the final challenge unfolds.
A really very good read

In Dragon Horse, Peter Ward weaves a tale of adventure in which Rokshan the young hero faces physical danger and mental challenge in his quest to save his people. Richly imaginative and moving at pace, the story of two young brothers , wisemen, warriors, horses and spirits unfolds against the background of the Silk Route in ninth century China. Rokshan finds harmony through mindjoining with dragon horses , who combine grace and strength, thus surviving death.

Dragon Horse is both a gripping adventure story and an exploration of some of the fundamental questions facing mankind- family loyalty, good and evil and the hereafter. This beautifully written novel marks the arrival of an exciting new author.

Word has it that he is working on a sequel....

Enthralling reading! 23 Jan 2008

What a gripping read! It was challenging to put the book down.
With the author's brilliant descriptions it was very easy to feel like one was on the Silk Road and in Ancient China. The use of mythology added a dimension to the book.
I would highly recommend Dragon Horse and await Peter Ward's next novel.
