Dragon Ball Z - Ultimate Tenkaichi

This game has kept my 'Autistic' son entertained for hours on end, better value than all his thousands of other games put together!

Yeah I said it, Dragonball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi is a luck game, its always 50/50 with this new battle system they have with this. You always have quick time events (QTE's) to interrupt the flow of a battle and its almost pot luck to chose or win these QTE events, its no skill. Which I thought at first was giving an even playing field if playing online battles, but to be honest at first it was fun and rather refreshing and completely different to me. But to be honest after a while it got very boring and irritating really fast, so this may make you be irritated with the main gameplay itself.

As for the different modes, the two main ones that seemed to have "changed" the most are story mode with actual, added anime cutscenes to some of the story mode, so I liked that part to this game. The second new element added to this game was the new "hero mode" added which lets you create your own DBZ hero, this customisation however is very limited and you can only be a saiyan as you hero, so that was a real let down, and the costumes are mainly from DBZ characters, just can change the colour of the costumes and hair styles provided. You can gain different hair styles and customisable items as you go through hero mode, this is still very limited so its still really disappointing. Also the hero mode is very short, but tough to level up your own created character.

Overall I give this game a 3.5 stars, that because of the story mode and creating your character. Still it will irritate you after a while of playing this game.
I have changed it to 4 stars after getting a bit more into hero mode, you can redo ALL boss battles (except the giant plain great ape one) then there is ALL the master training to do with the three different kinds of classes of created character, doing the master training unlocks new moves for your created character, best class for me is the standard one, the other two seem ok to use, but standard is better to use, more flexible movesets and so on.

So this just scrapes to 4 stars for it Overall cause of the recent re-playing of hero mode.

Bought this for my nephew for his birthday and he's really satisfied with the game! There's nothing more to add, thank you
