5.0 out of 5 stars BioWare at it's best. 5 Nov 2010
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Ultimate
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
One of the best I have played in 10 years. I purchased this after playing Origins and Awakening half way through around 6 months ago, and thought I would give this a shot as the DLC is very expensive compared to what the retail price of this actually is. You don't just get the expension pack and the DLC for the game listed on the cover. (7) you also receive the Blood Dragon Armor set and numerous other bonus goodies. (around 11 items in total.) It's basically the entire released DLC for the series on Xbox LIVE purchased and included in 1 package.

Excellent RPG, 50 awards won for the franchise since launch and it is understandable why, it is an extremely enjoyable gaming experience with is sure to satisfy any RPG fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game and good value 27 Nov 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is by far the best game on the xbox, i have played both mass effect games which i thought were ok but this leaves them trailing. The sheer size of this game without any add on packs is nothing short of incredible. The characters are great, great story, the upgrade system is great, the amount of items, armour, races, weapons, skills, specialisations, spells is amazing. There is so much to do and after completing it i went and started over again.

I bought this version after buying the original, but this actually works out cheaper than buying all the dlc seperately. The DLC comes on a disc of its own and needs to be installed on the hard drive which is worth considering if you dont have much space on your drive. The dlc is actually very good and adds many more hours to the game, there are new spells, abilities, items and characters.

I would highly recomend this game

5.0 out of 5 stars Bioware does it again!! 1 Dec 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Well being a absolutely GIANT fan of Bioware and of the Mass Effect series I didn't hesitate buying this when Dragon Age was first released, after playing this game I never really looked back. You have a choice of 3 races either Human, Elf or Dwarf but each of these races have a different Origin, the Human (Human Noble or Human Mage), Elf (Elf Mage, Dalsh or City Elf) and Dwarf (Noble or Commener.) Which Origin you choose makes a difference how people react and treat you. You are chosen by a stranger called Duncan, who you find out later is the leader of a group of mighty warriors called the Grey Wardens sworn to defend the lands against Darkspawn (twisted creatures intent on killing and tainting anything that comes into contact with them.) In the story the legend states every few centuries the Darkspawn find a slumbering Dragon and infect it with their taint thus becoming something the Wardens call an Archdemon which will lead the swarms of Darkspawn into battle which has been named the Blight. Your character goes through a sacred ritual known as The Joining, and your own Grey Warden is born. The job of the Wardens is to defend Ferelden and its people and eventually slay the Archdemon if a Blight should ever arise. Read more ›

5.0 out of 5 stars Best RPG Of 2010 29 Oct 2010
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Ultimate
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Dragon Age: Origins is a traditional RPG. The leveling up is very original, you have strength, agility, wisdom, constitution and so on. Then you have the skills and abilities that you can learn. The best part is how you even get distribute the skills and points party members earn when leveling up for them (or you can do auto level up), so there is a lot here for RPG fans. You also get to chose what party members have equipped, so you aren't just focusing on your character. For those of you who love hardcore RPG elements, it's all here. For those of you that only like small RPG elements, you can chose to auto level up your characters.

Dragon Age: Origins has you running around, exploring areas, solving quests and killing. The exploration system works with you choosing which area to go to on the world map. Once you chose an area, you see a trail of blood move towards there from your current location, sometimes you may encounter other parties or creatures, while most times, you'll get to your destination straight away. Areas that you can directly explore contain many people to talk to and many side quests, although for me, the exploration in the game is nothing impressive and it doesn't try to be. Dragon Age is more of a story telling game with much combat. The combat is handled differently depending on what difficulty you play on, play on Casual difficulty and you only ever have to play as your character, play on other difficulties and you'll find you'll need to manage your character's party's tactics and even sometimes take direct control of them in battle. Tactics are things ranging from having a party member automatically drink a healing potion when low on health, to attacking the most powerful enemy.
