Product Description

Platform: PlayStation3 | Edition: Ultimate

  • Dragon Age Origins Game
  • Dragon Age Origins Awakening Expansion Pack

From the makers of Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic, and Baldur's Gate comes an epic tale of violence, lust, and betrayal. The survival of humanity rests in the hands of those chosen by fate. You are a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient order of guardians who have defended the lands throughout the centuries. Betrayed by a trusted General in a critical battle, you must hunt down the traitor and bring him to justice.

As you fight your way towards the final confrontation with an evil nemesis, you will face monstrous foes and engage in epic quests to unite the disparate peoples of a world at war. A romance with a seductive shape-shifter may hold the key to victory, or she may be a dangerous diversion from the heart of your mission. To be a leader, you must make ruthless decisions and be willing to sacrifice your friends and loved ones for the greater good of mankind.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best PS3 game I have ever come across 6 Feb 2013
By hc
Platform for Display:PlayStation3| Edition:Ultimate|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Choose your character, looks and name; gather a party of friends who will help you battle your way through many different enemies, perhaps you'll even fall in love with one of them! Influence political decisions in the way you choose, help or hinder your fellow citizens, and ultimately save Ferelden!

This is an absolutely fantastic game. It's easy enough to follow all the political side, but involved enough to keep you entertained. The level of difficulty is just right - not so easy you fly through it, but not so difficult you give up. The range of spells, weapons, armour and attacks are good - you don't need to get too in-depth about it if you don't want to, but you can if that's what you like. The controls are easy to grasp, layout of the screen is perfect - everything easy to see but out of the way. The in-game characters are brilliant, all have their own distinct personality and background, and you really start to feel for them! The romantic options are excellent, realistic, and cater for all tastes. Choosing your own background and character keeps the game interesting even after you've played it 1000 times, and there are 1000 different ways to play it. I haven't played all of the downloadable content yet, but what I have played is very good.

This game has had a lot of time, effort and imagination put into it, it is detailed and in-depth but easy to follow and understand. You can choose how in-depth you get, how difficult it is to play, and it caters for all levels of ability. It's a must-have for anyone with a PS3, even if you only own one game, it should be this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game but beware of the EA flaw 30 Oct 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Great game in every way, check out some review from IGN and Gamespot for more details.
Just writing to let you know that Ultimate Edition PS3 version doesn't come with the Return to Ostagar DLC. This is due to an error made by EA. They are fixing it right now and they have told that everyone who bought this game will receive free Return to Ostagar DLC probaply from PSN. This "flaw" doesn't occur on 360 or PC version. This is not Amazon's fault, it's EA's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best action RPG I have ever played 25 May 2013

I am great fan of Zelda, Secret of Mana, Wow, but Dragon Age is far ahead of them.
The only downside is the lenght of its plot is little short.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great hardcore RPG experience. 15 April 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation3| Edition:Ultimate|Verified Purchase
Having own this product perviously on the xbox 360, i just had to own it on the ps3 but this time with this edition to experience even more of this wonderful game, this game is probarbly one of the closest games you will find this generation to an hardcore RPG experience, it offers a deep compelling story complete with some of the best sets of charactors you won't find anywhere else to be honest, along with the main quest there are plently of side missions to achieve allowing you more EXP to level up your charactors and of course the much loved loot to find.

The only thing that stops it from being a 5 star are some issues the game has, frame rate can drop on this version quite a bit but not to the point where it's unplayable, texture pop-in is also quite slow and then the odd glitch every now and again.

The product itself arrived faster than expected and there were no problems visible on the case or the disc itself, i highly reccomend this product for anyone wanting to experience a deep and complete RPG.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant. 2 Mar 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation3| Edition:Ultimate|Verified Purchase
I love this game. It is not as free roaming of an open world as other games like GTA etc but the games is a brilliant story, with great depth and excellent characters with very good voice actors.
The customization of the characters, being able to equip the various equipment and weapons is excellent as well as being able to level up your characters and improve their skill.
The Ultimate Edition also features more missions and side quest adding even more enjoyment to this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favourite video game so far 3 Jan 2011
Platform for Display:PlayStation3|Edition:Ultimate
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is simply the best game I have ever played, to date. An interesting, involving plot where your character actions have a real impact on the game resolutions. Origins feels like reading a really great novel, one were you really want to get to the end but then feel that sense of loss when you do! The gameplay is intuiative and you end up with a group of companion characters with distinct personalities and customisable classes (with varied skills and specialisations) that you can develop genuine attachment too. A great cast of extras and a range of interesting locations make this game addictively playable. If you enjoy roleplaying and games with story then this game is fot you too!

Additionally, the Ultimate version is well worth it as you get lots of extras including in-game items, the follow-on game (Awakening) and some mini-stories too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Game bar from one major flaw 1 Nov 2010
Platform for Display:PlayStation3|Edition:Ultimate
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is a brilliant collection of the original game, its expansion and its DLC. I enjoyed the original game by itself for days at a time playing through it quite a few times without it ever getting boring and now with extra content I can play it for even longer with all the additional content. However, EA have made a major error with accidentally not putting the 'Return to Ostagar' DLC in the Euro version of the package. Although annoying they are resolving the issue, freely I might add, so this hitch won't be as big as it seems. Also includes the Dragon Blood Armour in the package, just for anyone who is wondering.
