After her arrival, she awakens to seek both the remains of her husband and the descendant of Jonathan Harker -- who has gone to great lengths to ensure that the count will never rise again. Notable mainly as the debut effort of Francis Coppola's nephew Christopher, this film benefits from a flamboyant style and great use of film noir ambience (gritty, neon-lit street scenes; Josef Sommer's Chandleresque voice-overs) but the tired script is in dire need of a punch-up. This basic premise was handled with far greater panache in Michael Almereyda's Nadja. ...Dracula's Widow (1988)

3.0 out of 5 stars Dracula's Widow...another Vamp 9 Feb 2008
Wonderfully eighties, and apart from some dubious acting which makes one wonder whether she was up to the job of leading actress, this offering is interesting and somewhat zany, disjointed and tacky at times. But having said that, it is done rather well,,,not quite up to the standard of Grace Jones VAMP, but similarities can be found, the vampire action is dated, but good for the eighties, and that was the era when they did them in style with bat changes and lots of fangs and evil. Not bad, compared to some of the awful ones now being offered on DVD these days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual and Uniquely Sexy Vampire. 12 May 2012

In this cult vampire film Sylvia Kristel manages to be sexy in an unexplainable way. Wearing a non-revealing outfit she manages to pull off a dark, mysterious, hypnotic sensuality all her own. I guess the movie wasn't a hit because people were disappointed by a non-nude female vampire, and of course who would they expect to bare it all more than Sylvia? I personally like this film alot. There's lots of good scenes and not alot of slow moments like in those cheesy horror flicks. If you want to see an unusually sexy vampire with a vengeance you should buy this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars great film in the Hammer tradition 15 Jan 2013
By Jay Holder - Published on
Here is a great film in the Hammer Horror tradition that`s WELL DONE WITH GOOD TASTE! Not just gory with no story or too much slash for my cash. I`m sick of graphic slasher movies. This one has blood and guts, but just enough camp and humor to let the audience know not to take it too seriously. Highly recommended in German or English on a great quality REGION 2 DVD transfer. The VHS (which I also have)doesn`t do it justice. A FEAST FOR SORE EYES!

2.0 out of 5 stars Stupid Stupid Stupid 28 May 2014

Really bad acting, no real story line. Wouldn't even qualify as a grade "B"...don't waste your time or money -- it was free to me through Prime, and I'm still sad.
