Product Description

Cathela's Office Halloween Ball is a complete bust. She spills out of her Dracula's Bride costume, and her vamp fetish chases away her boyfriend. Only redeeming feature to the night? Necking multiple shots of Dracula's Kiss--a lush Black Cherry Vodka cocktail--and an interlude with a gorgeous man dressed Gary Oldman style.

No one comes close to satisfying Alec Murray's needs until he meets Cathela during some lame-ass party for bankers. One taste of her blood, sweet yet darkly dangerous, he knows she's perfect for him.

A night of goth bondage is planned for one. For the other, a night of sexual control is a must. A perfect fit. Alec is compelled to reveal his true nature but can their relationship survive his dark secret?

EXCERPT
Heart pounding, she rounded a bend and laughed with the ridiculousness of the situation, unable to believe she had accidentally on purpose arrived at the dungeons. Thick, steel bars still enclosed two of the cells and heavy-duty iron handcuffs were chained to the walls. She crept into the first chamber and glided her finger along the iron of the torturous restraints. Imagining the pain and horrors that must have happened there, she shuddered.

"Have ye been naughty? Do I need tae teach ye a lesson and lock ye up?" A voice penetrated the darkness around her, shattering her little game of pretend cat and mouse. She spun to see who'd followed her. Not wanting to be caught in a drunken state, she prayed it was a stranger. But in the same moment, she hoped for someone she knew who wished her no harm. No one would hear me scream for help.

Her candle snuffed out from a breath, and not her own. The chill exhale kissed her neck and skated down her body like an icicle drip. The horror of it sent her hurtling backward. Had it not been for the wall behind her, she would have landed on her butt.

"Who's there? Bar dude, is that you?" She pressed herself against the cool stone bricks, too excited to be truly afraid. After all, this was what she wanted. To not know what was going to happen next, and to fully engage in life again. And the way her heart jumped and her chest pounded, she felt alive for the first time in years. "Hello?" She peered down the corridor that donned only a flicker of light from the stairway's sconces.

"It's me, Dracula." He stepped into soft, flickering light not two meters away from her, his silhouette giving away his identity. Top hat and tail coat. Definitely him. "I saw ye come down here and wondered if ye were all right. Sorry if I scared ye." Cool as ice, he strolled toward her.

"I'm fine. A little creeped out, though." She fanned herself, willing her breath to slow since panting and heaving were not the sexiest of images to go with. And even though she didn't plan on doing anything about it, she couldn't help wanting the Count lookalike to desire her.

A fab gothic read 10 Dec 2011

Article first published as eBook Review: Dracula's Kiss by JoAnne Kenrick on Blogcritics.

I'm a fan of JoAnne Kenrick, vampires and Decadent Publishing's 1Night Stand series, so I happily tucked into Dracula's Kiss on my Kindle. It tells the story of a woman called Cathela. She's been charged with organising her company's Halloween Ball, and she's gone all out. Held at a castle rumoured to have inspired the master of vampire stories himself, Bram Stoker, Cathela is in her vamp-loving element.

Despite the awesome location, the party doesn't go quite as planned. Cathela has a wardrobe malfunction which results in her spilling out of her Dracula's Bride costume in front of her colleagues, and her boyfriend gets moody and goes off to make eyes at the party's female entertainment.

More than a little miffed, Cathela heads to the bar and ends up drowning her sorrows in shots of Dracula's Kiss, a delicious cocktail being served by the equally delicious barman. As the alcohol makes her bolder, Cathela flirts with the barman, a task made particularly easy by the fact he appeals to her vamp fetish in the extreme - he's dressed as Dracula, Gary Oldman style.

After an encounter in the castle dungeons, Cathela's conscience gets the better of her, and she and the mystery man part on pleasant terms. However, as much as she may want to deny it, he awakened something in Cathela that doesn't want to go away...

Finally, giving in to her desires, Cathela signs up for the website on the card the Gary Oldman lookalike gave her, and goes on a date with him. This time she has no boyfriend and therefore no guilty conscience to contend with. All she has is her wants, her kinks, and a totally hot guy willing to please her. But when he reveals his dark secret, will Cathela run and hide, or accept it and submit to him?

Hurrah for another corker from Ms. Kenrick! The Gothic theme of this tale really appealed to me from the beginning, and after throwing in a hot male lead, some kink and a promising ending, Dracula's Kiss was a totally yummy tale. So if you're looking for some sensual, kinky writing with Gothic overtones, then you should definitely check out this story.

United By Books ~ Review by Lindsey Hutchison 28 Oct 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
When asked to review "Dracula's Kiss" I jumped at the chance! Not only because I am a JoAnne Kenrick fan, as well as a 1 Night Stand series fan, but the cover had me lusting to see what was inside. After all tis the season to get lost in one short, steamy read that has a vampire in it.

Cathela goes to the Halloween work party with some high sexual expectations where her boyfriend is concerned. Only problem, her fella doesn't understand her vampire fetish and bolts. Alec, on the other hand, sees (inserts me, I wish) Cathela and knows she will instantly give into his needs of not only a hot sexual encounter, but blood. Alec is a scrumptiously sexy man in vamp garb and who is actually the REAL deal vampire dressed as Dracula to attract her attention. Might i say he makes some seriously yummy drinks called Dracula's Kiss. Cathela sees him at the bar, mixing a Dracula's Kiss. She can't help bit feel all hot and bothered over Dracula (Alec), but she is still taken so not even a tempting touch or two will lead her astray. I must say I wouldn't mind a Dracula Kiss or two! Once broken up from her boyfriend, Cathela gets in touch of 1 Night Stand with the hopes of seeing her Dracula again and isn't disappointed. Despite Cathela's fascination with vampires and the chemistry between the two of them, Alec still worries she won't accept him, but then again when you feel the pull of attraction what can you do, but leap. I loved this book! At one point I found myself holding my breath in anticipation, wishing I was Cathela with my back against Dracula's (Alec) chest and his fangs were giving me that sensual bite. For a short read I would recommend it. Who wouldn't want some hot, Scottish vampire to fulfill your fantasy of Dracula? Alec and Cathela have smoldering hot chemistry in bed (*cough* a blindfold may be involved). JoAnne, once again you left me happy with this short yet sexy read.

Fun read 25 Oct 2011

Cathela meets her dream Dracula come to life at "The Essex Co-op Bank's Annual Halloween Ball."
Two months later, with the help of 1night stand she meets him again determined to indulge her fetish, unaware that he is a real vampire. Although this is a short read it is a fun one, and I recommend this to anyone who enjoys PNR.
