Synopsis

This is the classic novel brought to life in full colour! Bram Stoker's gothic masterpiece was first published in 1897, and has spawned so many classic films, all based on the character he invented when Queen Victoria was on the throne. Like "Frankenstein", the films have pushed the characters into the very fabric of our society, so it is with great pride that we bring you a visual treatment that is true to the original - made even more exciting by the wonderous talent that is Staz Johnson!

Classical Comics bring us another stunning adaptation. Dracula comes alive! This well-known Gothic novel starts with young solicitor Jonathan Harker travelling to Transylvania to sell a house to a nobleman named Dracula. The punchy text draws the reader straight into the tension of the story and full use has been made of the artwork to heighten the tension and reflect the feel of the original book. The essence of the text has been retained so none of the atmosphere of the story is lost whilst making the text flow freely and the story move quickly. Stunning atmospheric artwork gives the reader a real insight into the characters. The full text version is the perfect complement for KS3/4 teaching, and this rendition really brings the story alive in a powerful way that will appeal to students. This, the original text version, uses wording taken directly from the original, giving the text real authenticity whilst keeping it flowing in a way that will capture attention.
The Quick Text version includes all the wonderful artwork from the Original Text version is here, allowing the reader to switch seamlessly from one version to another. Perfect for last minute revision, or for anyone who wants an overview of the story, this edition is suitable for readers of 10+. The quality of the production of Classical Comics' books is exceptional - they are produced on top quality glossy paper and they are a real pleasure to handle - please, do take a look. No eBook could possibly compare! The attention to detail in the illustrations is phenomenal and I genuinely think Classical Comics' books get better each time. If you are teaching English, then get these books to inspire your students.

You have read the book seen the film now it is brought to life by this graphic novel, the drawings are excellent for being hand drawn it sticks to the orginal story practically word for word I mean there is only so much the author can do given the subject matter in this form theres going to be a bit of artist licence be fair, but the outcome I can not fault if your a fan of Dracula this has to be added to any respected collection.

This is a top example of how to construct and visualise the written word - better than a story board, very slick and professionally produced images, well composed and presented in an entertaining manner - this took a lot of effort and a 'ton' of talent - tremendous.

Dracula is one of my favourite books, and so I thought the idea to release a graphic novel with the option of original and condensed text was a wonderful idea.
I opted for the original text, and I'm glad I did! The artwork isn't 'kiddified' or dumbed down, and it's a pleasing read. Dracula is a character like James Bond or Sherlock Holmes - open to so many interpretations.
So I'm sure there are those who won't like it, but I'd say give it a try and just enjoy it for what it is :)

Very good and classic work. Nice atmosphere captured by its images. For all those who want to "drink" it carefully, page by page, image by image, text by text, and FEEL the whole story. Congratulations to the team that made it. As a minor drawback (maybe it's not a drawback for others at all) I would say that the faces of the characters needed more sketching details.
