Meet the greatest detective of them all! OK… the greatest detective in Transylvania!
From his castle, Count Dracula and his trusty man servant Renfield solve crimes too mysterious for the police. Using his vampire powers, no clue will be left undetected and no criminal will escape.
What links the mysterious robberies occurring each night around Transylvania? Who stole a priceless saxophone from the museum and just what has happened to the invisible flan?
The first of the Count’s many adventures are captured here for your enjoyment in the form of a short story, two poems and a Solve-it-Yourself mystery so you can try your hand at being a detective too.

About the Author

Andy Bruce was born and raised in Blackpool, England but hasn't let that hold him back. Andy started out his creative journey at an early age through drawing, and soon discovered a hidden talent for cartooning. Through school and college he used his illustrating skills to create both cartoons and short stories for school/college magazines that gained some notoriety. Later he became involved in film making and wrote and directed several films. More recently he has teamed up with life long friend Dave Blake (a talented author) who has published several children's short stories and poems, and who Andy has helped to bring the iconic characters of "Duke Palooka", "Quentin DeVere", "Sebastian", "Poe" and "Atticus Wolf" to life. As well as illustrating, Andy co wrote "The Dog Who Lost His Bark" with Dave before going on to publish his first solo project "Dracula Investigates..." He is currently working on further ideas as well as continuing to create artwork for up and coming stories written by Dave.

5.0 out of 5 stars A supernaturally splendid debut! 22 Jun. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Andy is known to many of us as a very gifted and creative illustrator, less so for his words. This, his first solo story, proves he has equal ability with both text and pictures. He has a refreshing take on the traditional Dracula tale that combines humour and suspense, leaving you laughing and thrilled at the same time. More please Mr Bruce!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! 15 Sept. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
My daughter loves this book which is made up of a couple of short stories (one of which you can try to solve the case yourself) and a couple of really funny poems and includes some fantastic black and white illustrations which really capture the action well. I can imagine this being turned into an animated film. Really original idea turning Dracula into a kind of Sherlock Holmes character. Looking forward to trying the second book in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great mixture of stories and poems 26 Oct. 2014

A great mixture of stories and poems, with lots of humour and great description. One story offers the reader the chance to solve the mystery, a nice touch. Loved the relationship between Dracula and his trusty assistant Renfield!
The book is punctuated by enchanting illustrations, is thoroughly enjoyable and I think suitable for a wide age range.

I'm hearing LOTS about this great children's book - spent the morning with people who tell me their 9YO keeps nicking their kindle to read it again and again and that's just on a basic Kindle. I'm going to order the paperback for a friends child and I can tell by the cover alone, he will love it! Fab title

With an engaging and interactive storyline together with beautiful illustrations, this is a must for young children. My nephew loved it. There's also a short witty poem too which is great for bedtime storytelling.
