Dr Ramses Seleem
Dr Ramses Seleem is an author and teacher of Egyptology, who has studied all aspects of the ancient Egyptian tradition for over twenty-five years. His studies involved not only the traditional 'classroom' subjects, which included religion, hieroglyphs, astrology, mathematics, philosophy and natural medicine, but also the Egyptian physical culture, comprising Sesh (stretching), Sesenti (breathing), Khentu (postures), Usert (power exercises), Sebek-Kha (warrior training), Udau (sound exercises) and Baau (glandular exercises). On completion of his military service, Dr Seleem travelled to the United States, where he set up his own academy called the Egyptian Physical Culture Association. After twelve years, he decided to teach in other countries and spent time in Australia, South Africa and Holland, where he featured in numerous magazines and newspapers and appeared on many television and radio programmes, discussing the ancient Egyptian way of life. Since 1996, Dr Seleem has been living in London, where he is the Principal of the Sia Academy for Ancient Egyptian Studies. He has written many books covering all aspects of the ancient Egyptian culture. He has appeared on MBC TV and has been interviewed by a number of leading periodicals, including The Sunday Times Magazine, Red, What's On In London and Marie Claire. He has also perfected an entirely new computer programme as a word processor for Egyptian hieroglyphs.
