First produced in 1976, this made-for-audio book (later a novel was based on this recording) features narration by Tom Baker and includes Elisabeth Sladen providing the voice of Sarah Jane Smith. Produced while the television show was in a serious period under producer Philip Hinchcliffe, it features the fourth Doctor at a level of quirkiest that would not be matched until years later on the show - he sings (yes, believe it or not!), dances and plays a piccolo. In general the production level isn't too great (besides Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen there is only one other voice heard, and the sound affects are somewhat cheesy), but Tom Baker carries the story through, making this a great tape to have.
Yes, this is a great audio book, one that I am very glad to have. It runs 45 minutes, and is a lot fun. It is so good to be able to experience the Doctor again, even when in my car!
