5.0 out of 5 stars A great audio book 19 Aug 2005
Format:Audio CD
When the Doctor and Sarah Jane arrive at the end of their latest trip, they find themselves back on modern Earth. But, when they are attacked by a strange sea monster, they realize that Earth is under attack. Long ago, Dr. Who encountered these creatures before, a race of metallic, shark-like creatures from the planet Pesca. It seems that their planet is moving closer towards its sun and it is about to be destroyed. The Pescatons need a new home, and Earth with its great oceans seems like an excellent choice.

First produced in 1976, this made-for-audio book (later a novel was based on this recording) features narration by Tom Baker and includes Elisabeth Sladen providing the voice of Sarah Jane Smith. Produced while the television show was in a serious period under producer Philip Hinchcliffe, it features the fourth Doctor at a level of quirkiest that would not be matched until years later on the show - he sings (yes, believe it or not!), dances and plays a piccolo. In general the production level isn't too great (besides Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen there is only one other voice heard, and the sound affects are somewhat cheesy), but Tom Baker carries the story through, making this a great tape to have.

Yes, this is a great audio book, one that I am very glad to have. It runs 45 minutes, and is a lot fun. It is so good to be able to experience the Doctor again, even when in my car!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Rare Find; Must-have For Any True Fan 27 Feb 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is not music but a radio-style drama that was released originally on vinyl during the T Baker era. Briefly available on CD, if you are a fan of the show & can get this CD, do so. Stars Tom Baker as The Doctor & Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. This is a fun listen even though it is a little corny & predictable as Sci-Fi goes.
