This Dr Who Dalek Projection Alarm Clock projects the time, date or seconds depending upon the mode selected. The time is also projected when the alarm sounds or when the demo button is pressed. The time can be displayed as a 24hr clock or AM/PM. The clock plays "Exterminate" Hover & Gun sound effects. The Dalek has an LCD screen and the base and time display glows blue. This was a present for the elder of my two nephews. It went down well with him but also seemed very attractive to the younger one - and he managed to make it reset. However, I have heard no complaints since. The eye stalk seems a little bendy though.

My 8 yr old son wanted this for ages. He loves it and plays with it quite a bit... Not sure how much sleep he had the first few nights!!!. Has to be operated by an adult, as written Instructions are poor. I would say 8 yrs is about the right age to get to grips with things like the snooze feature. A little disappointed with the light display time special feature. Not very strong projection.

I bought this Dalek alarm clock for my husband and we have both been really satisfied with the purchase. The directions are a little tricky to figure out, but once you've gotten the hang of the clock it's really fun to use. The Dalek has three different noises - two sounds and one shout of "exterminate!" It's a fun and exciting way to wake up. The alarm clock is smaller than I imagined but it's pretty durable and VERY lightweight. The projection light is easy to use (you just push the Dalek down) and the time shows up on your ceiling.
I would not purchase this clock for a child simply because the front attachments seem like they could break off easily.

The dalek was smaller than I imagined, but the detail was amazing. It is propped up so it glows underneath--it almost seems like it's hovering! The three different sounds on it are all loud enough to wake you up when it's working, but unfortunately, the sound on it gave out after only five uses. I tried changing the batteries to no avail. It is too bad because otherwise I would have loved this clock.

Visually, this Dalek alarm clock looks VERY much like a real Dalek. The sound effects are excellant, and make me giggle every time! My only real complaint is that the time display is so small it's virtually useless, unless you happen to be within 6" of the thing - which is well within lethal range of a Dalek (even one that is 7" tall)! The projection clock works well, but would be more useful if it stayed on continuously. This product would be better if it had the option of plug-in power, which would allow for a continuous wall/ceiling display by the projector. The batteries only nature of it gives it a toy-like feel, rather than that of a real, usefully functional alarm clock. Of course, the point of the thing is really just to look cool and get some grins - which it most defintely does. I can't seem to walk by it without pushing the button to hear it say "EXTERMINATE!!!" Chuckle every time.
