It's about time Voodoo stopped being so up-its-own-bum stuffy! Followers of Voodoo moan because their religion is represented as 'black magic' and all dolls and pins, then they moan when someone takes the time to write about it and try to give it some dignity. The Voodoo Spellbook is a fun read and helps raise the profile of the religion in a good way, so more power to it. Another book I liked is Vodou Shaman by Ross Heaven, who is a priest (Houngan) of Haitian Voodoo, but also yer average white guy living in England. Heaven's book is more of a serious look at Voodoo but still accessible, open and honest about the religion and has some useful exercises in it too, as well as a few spells and herbal recipes. You'll enjoy them both. Well done Dr Snake and well done Houngan Heaven.
