5.0 out of 5 stars Dr Martens Dee 2 Nov 2008
Like other Dr Martens ranges I've tried recently, these seem to run a little on the small side. I take a UK8 in regular Dr Martens boots and in the Tatum style shoe, but a 9 in the Christina style and in these. Like the Christinas, they're a little loose around my toes and they have space for a thick pair of socks, but they're snug over the top of my foot.

These are absolutely glorious. I was surprised at how comfortable they are, as I usually find that Dr Martens can take a bit of wearing in (and a lot of pain, blood and plasters), but there was nothing like that for these boots.

Thus far, I've taken them on a 1 mile trial walk, which caused no blisters nor soreness, and I've worn them for work (9 hours of wear total, including about 3 miles of outside walking over the day), and still no blisters, no rubbing and no soreness!

They press a little at the front of my ankle when going downstairs, which I'm sure is a wearing-in issue and they'll become easier to descend stairs in once the leather has become more supple.

The laces are a little bit annoying as they have a tendancy to untie themselves. I've been double-knotting them, but they still come undone somehow. I'll probably replace these.

Although they're air wair, these boots aren't quite as bouncy as some Dr Martens boots, and the shape of the boot did put a little more pressure on the balls of my feet than I'm used to. That said, I haven't worn heels regularly for about eight years. People who're used to walking in heels probably wouldn't have that problem, and besides, these are a world away from the majority of heeled boots on the market.

They have a zip on the inside leg which you can't really see in the pictures, but it makes them a lot easier to take on and off!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beuatiful Boots 29 Jan 2009
I've owned Doctor Martens before and so whilst waiting for these to arrive, i stocked up on plasters.

To my suprise, unlike Doc's i've had in the past that normally rub the backs of your ankles raw when you're breaking them in, these felt fantastic! I'll agree with the other reviewer that the do press onto the front of the ankle when going downstairs (or upstairs) but having had mine for a few days and with wearing them everyday, this stops happening pretty quickly!

All in all, these are gorgeous boots that are comfortable, indestructible (nearly) and look good with anything!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 4 May 2011
I loved these boots when I bought them. They were sturdy, shiny and not too uncomfortable. Took a bit of wearing in and I find that they can still press a little on my small toe, but I have long toes so that might just be due to the shape of my foot than the boot itself. Other than that, I loved them.

So why am I disappointed? I have had them less than 18 months and the patent upper is cracking across the toe joint. I now have a hole in each boot and will have to look at replacing them soon. I thought Docs were supposed to be more hard-wearing than that?

5.0 out of 5 stars I love my boots!!!! 2 Sep 2010

These boots are gorgeous!!! I am a UK 4 but got a size 5 as I had read on many sites these boots are made small. They fit perfect with enough room for socks in the winter. They are super comfy with the usual brilliant Doc Marten soles. These boots are perfect with everything and I am so pleased I got them.

5.0 out of 5 stars lovely! 20 April 2011

I own lots of Dr. Martens over the past 15 years but this is my first pair of heels. I really like them! They're comfortable from the start. I laced them up while zipped, and then tested the zipper a few times and they fit beautifully. I put them on and took the dog for a half hour walk and while my feet hurt a little bit, it wasn't near the usual doc marten break in process.
I should also mention that I don't wear heels. I own like, one pair, wear them once a year, and I always feel like a little kid clomping around in her mom's oversized high heels. I found these oddly easy to walk in, and extremely stable. No wobbly kid ankles in these!
My one issue is that they've got zero arch support. I suspect I'm going to buy some arch support insoles and put them in to see if it helps.

Overall, love them so far, and can't wait to wear them in! :)

I get a lot of compliments on these boots and for winters in Chicago when you are going to probably bust your arse on the ice - you can still pull off a nice heeled boot and know you aren't falling down!

I just got these boots in red today. I am so pleased. They're really comfortable, very well made and absolutely awesome looking!!!
*I did not get them from Amazon. I got them elsewhere on sale for about $75.00 including tax and shipping. I have to say that they're definitely worth the price listed here and had I not found them on sale I would have gladly paid that price without hesitation.
The only issue that someone may have is that the top part of the boot(calf area), laced in the tightest position, is a little big for my leg (I'm an average size woman, not underweight not overweight). It kinda bells out a little but I don't mind it at all. I think it makes the boots look even cuter. Maybe they're suppose to be that way??? IDK but I really like them!
