THIS BOOK NORMALISES BLOOD SUGAR, 9 Nov 2007
I just wanted to say that I agree with the other reviewers for this book. This book is the only one that did it for me. It kept my blood sugars normal. Fruit was messing me up and the Richard K. Bernstein reccomendeds the only friut we can eat is avarcado. The diet is strict but least I am empowered and in control over my life. I do not need to worry what bad things are going to happen to me if I keep on having high blood glucose levels. I am can keep my eyes and legs after all on this type of diet and therer is much hope for me and over time the habit changes to a healthier one, as I simply forget about junk and poisonous foods. Just think... if this diet/book is going to make you healthy, thin and beautiful well this is the book for you. If your in dought, try the diet out and see for yourself. Life should be a joy!!!

Great Book, 19 Oct 2009
Got this as my blood sugar readings were getting little out of control and the doctor said I need to do something about it. Within hours of getting the book I tried out the suggestions and found the the readings decreased to the top end of the normal range. After a month the readings are within the desired range 99% of the time. It's a matter of avoiding some foods that are no good for Blood sugar stabalisation. I recommend this book wholeheartedly as its enabled me to reach my key goal.

A real breakthrough in diabetes control, 27 Jan 2004

I am a type 1 diabetic and have been for over twelve years. I had more or less given up on ever having proper control of my blood-sugars and was resigned to putting on weight, having regular hypos/hypers and the probability that before long I would start suffering from the long-term effects of diabetes. Not any more. Since reading Dr Bernstein's book my life has changed dramatically. OK it is a bit tough having to give up on bread, cereals, potatoes etcetera but it isn't that difficult. (After all, diabetic already don't eat things like sweets and cakes, right?)
I have now been on his diet for about a month and have been going to the gym three times a week. Already I feel so much better. My blood-sugars are now mostly normal, I am losing weight and I feel much more alert. What more could you ask?
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. If you are a diabetic yourself you need this information. If you know one, then give it to them as a birthday present. It will be the best gift you could ever think of.
