4.0 out of 5 stars Well I like it!, 12 May 2005
By Jimmy Lovesey (Cardiff, South Wales) - See all my reviews
Interesting story, fun run-around, good to see the brig and sarah re-united, and victoria is great! Debbie Watling really excels as the older Victoria, and is given a lot better than she did in the series. Anyway. Maybe its just me.

2.0 out of 5 stars No Comment, 6 Sep 2003
By A Customer
Downtime , um, very hard to comment. On one side it's a good spin off story, no doctor but re-uniting some ( now aged ) faces to complete an old story.
And one the other side, the actings appauling, the plot is to complex and the whole thing has more holes than a golf coruse.
The story follows the stroy of the 2nd Doctor sotries ' The Abmoniable Snowmen ' and ' The Web of Fear ' . I would strongly recommend you that you listen to these stories ( tbey no longer exist on film ) before watching this otherwise you won't know what's happening.
The Opening scene is brilliant and got me excited, Victoria in the monestry " I want the truth " was brilliant and set me up for a great first class stroy. 10 minutes and it was not so.
Nicholas Courtney bobbing along , criss crossing the real world, and his mind.
Deborah Watling is good, and is a credit to the story , playing a middle aged Victoria.
Her dad Jack Watling returns as Victoria's nemesis Prof. Travers, but a bit of a let down.
And for some reason they throw in Sarah Jane Smith. She has nothing to do with the story. She comes along appears in a couple of scenes and 50 mins later she comes back and rescue's the brigadier, and ends the story by asking for a cup of tea.
The Yeti look much better in b/w , now they look like bloated teddy bears and arn't dominiating at all.
The actual sphere is more terryfing than the yeti itself.
All in all a disapointment.
Only buy this if you are a heavy duty fan.
If not stay well clear.

1.0 out of 5 stars BAD FROM START TO FINISH!, 3 Oct 2001
I was very eager to purchase this video and when I did, I was looking forward to it and 10 minutes into it I was extremeley bored!!!The plot itself was a good idea but the acting was appauling with the exceptions of Deborah and Jack Watling. Deborah Watling played the part very well as the middle aged Victoria but what a shame to bring the character back in the worst Dr.Who spinoff that I have seen. The story also brought back the return of Sarah Jane Smith, she was there at the start and there at the end but the character really wasn't necessary, but Elisabeth Sladen has not lost her fantastic acting capabilities. So altogether a SERIOUS let down!!
