If you are new to using a tablet or have just converted to running Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) the 'asian fones forum' have produced a basic start up guide (in Word format) which will cover almost all tabs with Android 4.0 - http://www.asianfonesforum.com/Allwinner_Manual_4.0.doc

Thanks Barry that will be useful for people new to android ICS.
Maybe a new hints and tips section should be started for ICS would it be okay to start one and make this the first post in it?

Yes I think that makes a lot of sense. The other hints and tips thread is very useful.

I'm still using 2.3.4 but have flashed my wife's tablet with ICS. I love the look of ICS and are desperately waiting for the H7 version to be released any day soon :-)

Despite having increased my 'tablet' knowledge by trawling through these threads I found the user guide to be extremely useful and filled in a lot of those grey areas. I think that anyone new to using a tablet (was that really me only 5 long weeks ago) would find the guide extremely useful and may save a few 'please help me' threads?

Thanks Barry. Downloaded this and its so much better than trying to understand the translated little manual which comes with the tab!

That was very helpful, Barry. However I still have one problem: Youtube seems to work OK until the point when the "play" arrow first shows. It then grays out and nothing happens. The built in sample video in gallery works OK. I'd be grateful for a soltion. Maurice Ginger

That's not a question about the manual, and so no-one's likely to find or answer it here. (And I'm not sure Barry's still around much: I think that like me and some other "early(-ish)" adopters he's moved on to gadgets new and just pops in briefly for old times sake. Some old hands from here are still pretty active on the forum for its successor machine, the one with double the memory). If you're having YouTube problems, you'd be better finding, or starting, a thread on that specific issue, maybe on the list for the newer device (the firmware and the majority of the hardware is identical. Can't help you myself, I'm afraid, because I'm not a YT user on these devices.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Mr B is as accurate as ever in all respects ;-)

Thanks. I've started a new one. Not only do I know nothing about my new tablet, but nothing about forum etiquette/ procedure etc. MRG
