Product Description

Bruce has lost everyone he ever cared about—even his cat.

Now he thinks he’s finally alone in the house, but something is about to come clawing its way out of the plumbing to prove him wrong.

What they’re saying about Down the Drain:

“Pyle’s tight little monster tale packs a nasty wallop.”
—Michael Louis Calvillo, author of I Will Rise and As Fate Would Have It

“Horror should be fun. Scary, of course...but above all, it should be fun. Too many people seem to have forgotten that. Well, Daniel Pyle has not forgotten. With his novella, Down the Drain, Pyle has crafted a tale that evokes all the eye-popping strangeness and excitement that got me into horror in the first place. I loved it, and I can guarantee you’ll never look at your bathtub the same again.”
—Joe McKinney, author of Dead City and Apocalypse of the Dead

Funnily enough I did make the mistake of downloading this whilst sat in the tub. I guess "Down the Drain" is a lesson in why you shouldn't take your Kindle into the bathroom with you. This short tale goes straight for the throat of its reader with the shocking story of a man who finds something much worse than a spider lurking in his bathroom. It reminded me of something out of "Tales from the Crypt." Well worth a read, but maybe not on bath-night.

first there was Jaws (Peter Benchley) that stopped me swimming in the sea, then Chocolate Covered Eyes (Lori Lopez) that stopped me accepting chocolate from monsters... Now I have to worry about bathing!
this is a gripping, no nonsense, gory and descriptive tale.
Loved the cats perspective to start the horror off with!
This really left me feeling a little sick and urgh at what might be lurking under my shower!
Daniel Pyle has a really twisted imagination, which is just what you want to have in this genre... brilliant stuff!
not afraid to shock...
special mention to a penis that SLAPS against a thigh.... grin!

Firstly, I must say that I am not a great lover of short stories as they always leave me wanting more. However, I love Daniel Pyle's work and that is the only reason I got this one. Once again, the author delivers a story that is intense, well structured, and with words that only a master of writing can pull off. The descriptive talent of this author is amazing. The story is short and to the point. Who else could pull off starting a story from the viewpoint of a cat? It was done in such an amazing way that I am now looking at my own pet cats in a totally different way. I can't compliment the author enough on his way of sucking the reader in, and getting them to use all five of their senses to really picture what he is describing. Absolutely loved it. This is a story that you should definitely get.
