AUSSIEMANIA? 23 April 2011
By DOPPLEGANGER TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, the punk rock supergroup and cover band going since 1995, and originating from California, can't be criticised for heralding an up and coming tour of Australia with the launch of the Album "Go Down Under", because it's really quite good.

This is their first release for a while containing 'new' cover re-workings and naturally to coincide with the tour, are nearly all Aussie super hits. AC/DC's "Men At Work", Air Supply's "All Out Of Love", Olivia Newton-John's "Have You Never Been Mellow", INXS's "Never Tear Us Apart", the lesser known " Friday On My Mind" which whilst only a minor hit in the mid-60's still gets radioplay to this day, and Rick Springfield's "I've Done Everything For You".

All tracks have received the The Gimme Gimmies touch of magic and been transformed with a fresh, sped-up twist with a punk kick up the 'derriere' resulting in a musical transmogrification. I am sure our cousins down-under will have given the band the good old Australian welcome and copious 'hospitality' (which apparently I am told means Fosters across the Australasian Continent ). I should imagine these guys went 'down under' a good few times during the tour.

rushed 11 April 2011
Format:Audio CD
ok i love me first and eagerly awaited this release, and mmmmmmm yes its good as you could expect, but not to the standards of there albums, i think this was rushed out as quick as possible to go with their australian tour, and who can blame them, with all being in seperate bands and having families etc they cant have much time, but i only hope this is a little teaser, and that the next album will be as amazing as usual

Put another shrimp on the barby sport !!!!!--the boy's are back in town and firing on all cylinders.
Yes---following on from their recent Ashes defeat to England, our cousin's down under have now had some of their finest acts music bested also (especially those lame/limp wristed boys in Air Supply-----as Spike and the boys rip through that old chesnut "All out of love"---total stormer). This is the latest in a long line of quality albums from MFATGG---and they certainly DIGGERIDOO a great job on every track on this EP(which will have you and the furniture bouncing like Skippy the bush kangeroo on angel dust !!!!!).
Just buy this record---it is pure class (a shame they didn't cover one of wee Kylie's though---maybe next time !!!) FIVE STAR ENTERTAINMENT.
