Winner of the prestigious Billy Kelly Songwriting Award at the end of 2008, he emerged ahead of a prodigiously talented field, which included Tommy Reilly, winner of Orange Unsigned and recent Universal signee. Judged by a panel featuring some of Scotland's leading talent, including musicians Bobby Bluebell, Kenny McCluskey, Donald Shaw, Frankie Miller and acclaimed playwright Peter McDougall, the award represented a distinct nod of approval from the higher echelons of the Scottish music scene.

'Down To Reverie' is a perfect antidote to most of today's vacuous, banal offerings. Robin nails each insightful and reflective song with ease and gives the listener the feeling of hearing a rare talent. Dylan admirers will lap this up and appreciate the effort and aptitude that's gone into the making of it. Well done Robin, great album, man.
