5.0 out of 5 stars Immortal Gods control the lives of an ill-fated couple., 30 Oct 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Down Among the Gods (Paperback)
I couldn't put this book down. It tells the story of Jessie and Patrick, a couple who meet at a life drawing class and are gradually drawn to each other as told through the eyes of Hermes, messanger of the Gods. Kate Thompson uses the Greek Gods (Aphrodite, Dionysus, etc.) to show how every bit of a mortals life is contolled by different gods (eg. Aphrodite controls your love life) and mortals just act out the lives of immortals. This book is an excellent read as you can easily see which God is controlling which aspects of your life and also the world around you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remarkably well done and insightful, 28 April 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Down Among the Gods (Paperback)
I read this book over a year ago, and it still sticks in my mind--I think of it almost daily. Kate Thompson writes with penetrating insight, in a captivating story, about the different aspects of the human psyche and how they are played out in the lives of people.
