Great personal testimony with health- & life-changing impact, 28 Feb 2002 By A Customer Erica White has written a powerful commentary from two strands of her life to demonstrate the immense power of faith and prayer (as a Christian) on the one hand; and of taking control of our health ourselves by reviewing carefully what we eat. I found this book very readable ~ and very moving as she used examples of how her life used to be, with an immune system in tatters from medications and former lifestyle choices ~ with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), with yeast overgrowth and M.E. ~ and how she (or people who have consulted with her as a qualified nutrition therapist) achieved dramatic improvements. Some of these were not EASY ~ but are great demonstrations of what can be done by SELF taking control and with proper guidance. I loved the description of a "doughnut" ~ but the book could do with a simple index at the back to track down some of those bits you recall but cannot then find!! And how about a contacts directory for those readers who want to find out more information on any of the topics covered? --Amazon review
This book will improve your life!, 24 May 2002 By A Customer For anyone who is wondering, I can confirm that this is a good book and well worth reading. Erica certainly knows what she is talking about and writes in a clear and easy to understand style. The book is actually in three parts. The first is the authors testimony, which is a riveting read! The second part covers various health problems one by one, giving real life examples each time not just theory. Part three is a collection of appendices for quick reference. I read the book from cover to cover learning all sorts of useful facts along the way. My quality of life has greatly improved since following the "general guidelines for healthy eating", and the same goes for my wife. If you have a suspicion that maybe your diet isn't as good as it should be, read this book! --Amazon review

From the Publisher
'Doughnuts and Temples' has grown out of Erica White's personal experience - first in finding ways to overcome her own health problems, and then in seeing health restored for literally thousands of others. Writing for fellow-Christians, Erica suggests that many do not enjoy the fullness of life that Jesus promised because their eating habits are not given over to God. She dedicates this book to all those Christians whose work for the Lord has been disrupted by physical or emotional inability to cope - simply because they have not been aware that their body's machinery has been running on low-grade fuel. This book is updated, having originally been published under the same title by Monarch Books in 2000.
I found this book to be crucial in understanding candida and the effects it has on your body. Although a bit repetative in places I really enjoyed reading the authors testimonies. I would recommend this book to anyone who eats an unhealthy sugary diet.
