The corker works fine i.e. it takes a cork and pushes it into a wine bottle relatively easily. However, due to the small pin used to drive the cork in, it leaves a large indent in the cork and also cause the surface to be lopsided and not flush with the surface of the wine bottle. As well as not looking professional, it then causes difficulty when attaching shrink capsules over the top. For this reason I will be buying a different type of corker for my next batch of wine.

made a bottle holder out of wood to hold bottle so i can use it myself easy to use after a few goes
some of my bottles are screw top and it inserts corks in them ok; re previous comments about marking
top of cork if you use too much force it will dent top of cork a little ,i put a small felt pad on top cork when its in chamber and no dent at all works for me!!!

I agree with a previous review, it does the job BUT the pin is too small, is off centre and leaves the cork lopsided (compressed at the top) with an indent from the pin.

Am throwing this away as it makes the corked bottle look shabby, am not looking forward to taking the corks out as it could easily rip the top of the cork apart!

Will attatch photo of corked bottle soon.

It is surprising that there aren't many options when it comes to manual corkers at a reasonable price. I was reluctant to buy this due to other reviews, and true to their word the most obvious thing about this product is that the 'plunger' that pushes the cork is much smaller than the cork and will leave a dent in every single cork -- which really leaves an unprofessional appearance.

To mitigate this, I purchased some Biowin shrink caps which leave a stunning finish -- however if you are corking professionally and your budget allows I would highly recommend finding an alternative corker.

This is simply excellent, does exactly what you'd expect it to!

The only downside, for me anyway, is that if you have collected bottles that have screw tops (As most cheap wines are) then this tool cannot grip the bottle properly and so doesn't force the corks all the way in. Easily avoided by just saving/buying corked bottles but i'm not much of a (Bought)wine drinker anyway and just got into brewing wines out of interest and so have been using bottles given to me.

Overall, excellent, just ensure you use with bottles that came with corks and not screw tops!
