5.0 out of 5 stars A new approach to understanding ethics 8 Jun 2007
Format:Paperback
Dr McHaffie has a great gift of presenting complex ethical questions in an entertaining and understandable form. This book is a "must read" for members of the medical profession - and a thoroughly entertaining and educational read for the layman (like me!)

5.0 out of 5 stars A compelling read 30 April 2012

This book is an absolutely fantastic follow up to 'Paternity'. The issues raised are compelling and thought provoking, Any portrayal of mental illness is a very small aside to the rest of the characters who are well rounded and become well loved and cared for by the reader. A book that I couldn't put down and stayed with me long after I finished it,

1.0 out of 5 stars formulaic 7 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book covers some interesting issues but is unfortunately two dimensional. It is as if the author has tried to pack too many questions into one novel. The characters are simply not believable, and the dialogue doesn't ring true. But I think what I found most disturbing was the portrayal of mental illness, which lacked veracity, and simply adds to the stigma experienced by sufferers. I think the author needs to consider her areas of expertise, and the consequences of writing fiction that is ill-informed.
