3.0 out of 5 stars An Average film, but watchable 3 Aug 2006
By Piya
Format:DVD
This is a fairly average film, but it has some laughs. Its fun to watch Elvis imitate the British, and pronounce "bikkies" with his American drawl.

Not one of his best films, but certainly not one of his worst either. Its funny, and watchable.

Elvis fans will love it.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Troubled Movie 14 Aug 2002
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
Uh - I used to think that I was a stalwart defender of Elvis' more obscure movies from the 60s. For some reason, I'd always wanted to see 'Double Trouble' since seeing the LP cover as a teenager, when I first discovered the King. However - and I say this reluctantly as an Elvis fan - this film is appalling. As a comedy, it fails miserably with corny lines ('I think that I've just sat on the tea tray') and soon lowers itself into a sort of parody of the Tintin cartoons, once the 'plot' (if that's not too strong a word) moves to Belgium, with all its spies and jewel-thieves.

There are, however, two reasons why it is perhaps worth seeing (though not necessarily buying) this video. Firstly the film opens with Elvis performing in London - & even visiting his girl's uncle in St John's Wood, where he admires a Constable painting: an intriguing way to think of Elvis! Secondly, there are a couple of good songs (e.g. 'Double Trouble', 'I love only one girl', 'Long'Legged Girl'), though no justification can be had for the GHASTLY rock version of 'Old MacDonald had a Farm'.

So, 'Double Trouble' will trouble you unless you're a devoted Elvis fan! Sorry, Elvis!
