Product Description

CD Description

Many Crickets fans felt that lead singer Gordon Payne had much of Buddy Holly s energy and enthusiasm and these recordings from 1992 and 1993 feature Gordon at his best with fellow Crickets Sonny Curtis, J I Allison, Joe Mauldin & Glen D Hardin.

About the Artist

In a career that has spanned nearly five decades and millions of records, The Crickets are unquestionably The American Rock and Roll band. Since the group s founding in 1957 they have influenced virtually every major rock performer in the United States and abroad from Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones and the Beatles (whose name was even Crickets-inspired). Their hits That ll Be The day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy, Not Fade Away, Maybe Baby, It s So Easy, I Fought The Law and More Than I Can Say are bona fide rock classics and considered primary lessons in how rock music should be written, played and enjoyed. As Paul McCartney once put it, If it wasn t for the Crickets, there wouldn t be any Beatles.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Crickets Double Exposure 29 May 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
As well as being a good guitarist Gordon Payne has a pleasant unusual voice not un-similar to Buddy Holly. Jerry Allison is still a maestro on the drums always has been, always will be and Joe B Maudlin provides great rhythm on the double bass. All told a "Good rocking Crickets" CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars One for Buddies Fans 31 Dec 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Having been a lifelong fan of The Late GREAT Buddy Holly, I feel it only right to follow his Great backing band The Crickets, including one of my all time heroes, Jerry Allison, one Great Talent. The whole album is steeped in Buddies tradition. One for his fans, definately.

3.0 out of 5 stars Might worth buying 13 Jun 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is a very nice compilation of the famous disco group Double Exposure. All songs are very danceble. The mixer guy is Tom Moulton, which is an assurance of top dance hits. Do not forget that "Ten Percent" is considered the first comercial 12" release. The version of the songs in this CD are those originally released in the LP. Also included a 12" version of "My love is free". As this is an imported title, and sometimes is a little bit difficult to obtain it.
