Amazon.co.uk Review

Eve Karpf reads Jacqueline Wilson's Double Act in this unabridged three-cassette audio book. Identical twins Ruby and Garnet are inseparable. They do everything together and go everywhere together. They love being twins, and since the death of their mother they have been closer than ever, safe in their little world. But when Dad finds a new girlfriend everything in the twins' lives is turned upside down--new home, new school, new everything. And gradually, being twins isn't quite the same anymore.

In Double Act, Wilson brilliantly captures the pain and uncertainty that change can bring. This story of two little girls gradually realising that they have no control over what is happening is both funny and poignant. Wilson shines as the twins begin to accept that things will never be quite the same, allowing her characters to grow and develop as individuals without ever losing sight of the bond that holds them together. Running time is three hours and 40 minutes. --Susan Harrison

Double act is about twins called Ruby and Garnet. Ruby is a real drama queen and loves to act plays and Garnet is the exact oppisite. thier mother is dead and thier father has found a girl-friend. they move away and they hate thier new school. Thier father is opening a book shop with his girl friend (Rose). In he end they end up going thier seprate ways. Other books by Jaqualine Willson that I'v enjoyed are 'The Dare game.','How to survive summer camp''The story of Tracy Beaker'and'The Illastrated mum' If you read this book you are bound to love it!

Double Act is about 2 twins and there mum died when they where little and they live with their dad and Nan. But one day her dad comes home saying he has met this lady called Rose. The twins Ruby and Garnet hate her the first time she sees her, which is when their dad brings her home to have tea, out off the blue and their Nan tried her best to be nice to Rose. Then her dad suddenly announced that they where moving to the country with ROSE, and that there Nan is going to be put in a home. Ruby and Garnet hate the idea, that means that they will have to change schools and they will have to live with Rose. They start a new school and hate it. But one day they see on the notice board a poster about a modelling thing so they go there on a Saturday, but there dad find's out and Garnet get sent to a boarding school and Ruby doesn't ... I thought this was a really good book and I would advise this for 10-year-old and ups. I also think she is a really good writer and make her books fun and easy to understand unlike some writers.
