Bought this phone for my retired father & even he can use it easily. Was surprised at the picture quality on it as well. The panic button seems an excellent idea, so I would recommend this product to anyone. 1st class delivery & service also.

I have not been able to hear previous mobile phones but this one meets all my requirements. Simple to use and clamshell design avoids need for a cover.

totally satisfied with this phone, it was a gift for someone who only needed a phone without the modern trimmings, and they are very
pleased with it, it has a clear screen, good size buttons and also has more, (camera etc) a good phone for someone who does not need all the modern tech. The service was great, order one day, arrived the next and well packaged.

I'm not into checking my Facebook status every five minutes and don't Tweet, so a fancy all-singing, all-dancing smartphone is just an overcomplicated waste of money for me.
I just want a phone to be a phone and SMS is useful too of course But that's all I need thank you very much!.
The Doro 621 fills the bill perfectly. It is a good size with an easy to use keyboard with well spaced keys. The screen is large and clear. The ring tones for the phone are loud and clear. Maybe the message tones could be better but this is not an important issue for me. The clam shell design is excellent and the choice of answering a call either by opening the case or by opening and pressing a key is handy. So you can monitor who is phoning before you answer.
The battery life on stand-by is excellent and the charging stand is a really nice addition.
There is an FM radio function included and reception is reasonable. Certainly no worse than any other portable FM radio I have had.
There is a slot for a micro SD memory card if required. It's a pity that with this facility the good folks at Doro haven't included the ability to play MP3 files properly.
It does play MP3 files but only one at a time with no follow through to the next track and critically it only works with the clam shell open. Not really much use. I appreciate that MP3 players may not be a function that everyone wants, but it is so close to being able to do it properly that it seems a shame not to go the whole way. I may be 67 but I do like to listen to Bach when I'm on the allotment and having one less gadget in my pockets would be nice.
But this is not a reason not to like this excellent phone. Full marks to the good folk at Doro.

This would be a very good device, except that I uncovered a rather large issue that directly affected my Mother, who is very hard of hearing and uses hearing aids; having sat with her to set the phone up to her requirements, she picked a built-in ringtone that at full volume was sufficient for her needs, but when we came to set the SMS message received tone, I was dismayed to find just three built -in tones, all of which are of the "single beep" type.

My Mother has been used to a very basic Nokia mobile 'phone that allowed any .mp3 file to be used as a message tone, and so had one set that "played" for a considerable length of time, with the volume ascending as it played to it's maximum.

My Mother has accepted this, and picked one to use, but has already started to "miss" SMS messages because of it, which pretty much defeats the object of the phone catering for the hard of hearing.

I did download the on-line manual (another minus point they don't provide a full paper copy, given the target market) but that makes no reference to using your own tones / music files, nor connecting the device to a computer at all, and only through experimentation have I found out that you can connect it to a PC and access it as a "Mass Storage Device".

Looking at the folder structure, I found a "Ring tones" folder, and with some trial and error, found that it does support .wav and .mp3 files, but would not play my test .mid or .midi files.

Hoping there would be a "SMS message tones" folder, I searched the entire contents and didn't find one, suggesting those are not samples per se, but are played directly by a sound chip or something.

If the person who is going to be using the device is someone who really makes use of text messaging to keep in touch, you really need to consider this small choice of tones before purchasing.

Hope that helps

Regards.
