5.0 out of 5 stars PFunk is back! A conceptual masterpiece! 30 Jan 2000
By PFunkster - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is George Clinton at his best! The concept is awesome and the messages spun on this CD are dying to be heard. The sound is more like heavy hip-hop than traditional funk but that doesn't matter. The CD is full of catchy chants and political innuendoes which give a better perspective on what's happening in this country than you'll ever get from the news. If you're a PFunk fan and you don't have this, do yourself a favor and buy it. It will raise your ROOF!

5.0 out of 5 stars George Clinton proves that he can still bring on the funk 4 Dec 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
George Clinton's new album Dope Dogs is a work of art. The funk scene is not quite what it used to be, and people are expecting some sort of major change in the music industry, having to do with techno and rock. George Clinton has successfully made that change, while not even trying. The new sound he's created still has that P-Funk sound to it, but you can easily tell that if funk were to ever change, this is the direction it should be headed. Give it a shot.

5.0 out of 5 stars FUNKENTELECHY INTO THE NEW MILLENIUM!!!! 13 April 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
George & Co. have done it again. This is a wonderful piece of progressively modern P-FUNK that`s evolving into even more artistic funkscapes.Check out "Pepe"`,"Some next shit","Fifi","Help Scottie, help." for some truly avant-funk."Dog Star"(fly on)Shows that Funkadelic is alive and well.George hasn`t turned off his BOP GUN and i hope he keeps it aimed at top 40 music.Don`t forget,THE FLAG IS STILL THERE!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Beat Goes On 'Till The Break O' Dawn 7 Oct 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Dr. Funkenstein, Bootsy, Starchild, and the rest of the all stars return for more of that old fashioned, beat pounding, groove laying, feel good funk. All around, it's one of his best albums yet. No one lays the funk down like George Clinton, and this is no exception. Starting right off with some fresh, thick beats, the album has great motion to it. It feels like a live jam, which is one of the reasons his albums have been so successful. Between the astounding bass grooves, the incredible sounding backgrounds, and that same funky groove. This is an album to listen to if yhou are in the mood for a party.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funkaliscious 3 April 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
yea, this one was a great one...but it is not new. I have owned this one since late '95 and could have had it earlier (not a u.s. release). If you go to any P-Funk shows, it would be obvious that this material was being played in concert heavily during that time. I would highly recommend this piece but please keep it in perspective. The last disc cut and pressed was TOPOAFOM which features the return of Bootsy (and there is no mistaking his voice if you care to listen). This album represents the last stand of the old funk...on TOPOAFOM and on Bootsy's new disc they show the puppies that an old dog can learn new tricks (many young folks - hip hop). The disc stays with the political groove and has so much to say that is right on...too bad what he's preachin'can't be heard by those who need to listen. Free your mind and....
