This dvd does not have any extras, no language options, no subtitles, not even scene select, which I can't say I was impressed with. And though the cast try hard to generate some interest, and make plenty of references to the original Doomwatch, it never really comes off. The plot is not that exciting or even interesting, there is far too much scientific gibberish spouted (a thing the original series usually managed to avoid), and the ending anti-climactic. Some of the new characters are interesting, but others are simply too stupid to be believable (like the supposedly intelligent woman - SPOILER COMING - who decides to carry on breaking into a secret establishment when she has been warned very convincingly that she is visible to their security cameras, for no other reason than to provide some spurious thrills as she gets chased around and trapped in the zone of greatest peril). Hero Neil Tanahill's wife is made a classically trained singer for no apparent reason, leading to the most unconvincing piece of miming I have ever seen when she 'sings' at a funeral. It is padded out with pointless chases, meaningless quotes and laboured messages, some of which might have worked better with a better sound quality. Slow, about thirty minutes too long, and garbled.
