Product Description

Synopsis

Drawing on evidence from several disciplines, and examples from five continents, Ian Niall Rankin sets out to completely reshape the history of our planet. Darwin's theory of evolution, he says, is inadequate to explain the archaeological and other evidence of past catastrophes that have hit the Earth. In his radical argument he insists that the reason for these repeated catastrophes lies in the unstable nature of the solar system itself. Tilting at another even more established theory, the author finds Newton's theory of gravity inadequate to explaining the continuous momentum of the planets over so many aeons. The model he proposes under his New Theory is as elegant as it is unexpected. This book will divide the scientific world as much as it will excite anyone with an open-minded interest in the nature of the universe.

Compelling evidence is marshalled from the worlds of physics, astronomy, natural history, geology and ancient historical records. A strong, well argued case is made for a history of polarity changes to the Earth. Future repetition of the earth adjusting its polarity, with potentially disasterous consequences, is likely in the near to medium term. A link with current global warming trends seems certain.

This book takes a fresh approach to the subject of climate change, assessing it from a totally new perspective.

The scientific case is well made looking at fresh evidence from across the worlds of astronomy, history, geology , mathematics etc ( although fairly demanding in part for the casual reader - me ). None the less it makes for a gripping read when one realises the full extent of the horror implied by pursuing Niall rankin's logic to its conclusion.

It appears there is little we can do to prevent the effects of extreme climate change and its inevitable associated disasters -the only question being the degree and the locations that will be worst affected. Highly recommended.
